Happy birthday boy!
The 7 year old I got this for was excited about it. He then took it home for his parents to help him put it together. I haven't heard a bad review from them so I think it was all good!

Perfect
Bought these for brainiac grandsons. They loved them. They are 9 and 11 so perfect for those ages.

Really neat!
Fun activity for older kids who like to build things! Lots of tiny pieces so keep away from little ones!

Great product but not easy!
Great Concept but the gearbox is hard to assemble for kids. The instruction manual is not very clear for the kids I had to search Youtube for guidance. Part quality is also not that great and I had to use quick glue a few times. But these quality Issues do not take away the fun experience it provides once you manage to assemble.

great buy
Great buy and value for moneyNot easy to assemble...my kids are 10, 12 and 14 and they all worked on it together and have not finished completing assembly after following the instructions. It a worthwhile challenge for them

Nice item but not too sturdy
The instructions are not intuitive all the time, adult help needed. The solar powered motor works great with even a flashlight but after a few tries the gears wouldn't catch and this robot wouldn't movevwhich requires some troubleshooting. Some pats are not durable and get damaged when taking apart one robot to build another robot.

More like age 12+. Age rating is VERY wrong!
I got this for Christmas for my space and lego obsessed 8.5 and 6 year olds. I expected them to need a little bit of adult assistance but as soon as we opened the box i realized i was very, very wrong. The smaller creations, like the rocket ship, my kids were able to help me more with building. I think maybe a 10 year old with model building experience could do that one on their own. The walking robot, however, i had to build 90% myself. It wasn't difficult for me but there is absolutely no way an 8 year old or even a 10 year old could build this on their own. A better age rating would probably be 12+ for the walking robot. This present was a disappointment because my kids couldn't do as much on their own as they had hoped. They love building things and specifically wanted to build their own working robot and instead, i had to build it for them. They watched and participated when they could but its just not the same as them building it. Now that I've built the models my kids do love playing with them though. The rocket ship doesnt last very long once charged and the robot is a bit top heavy and falls over easily but my kids dont really care. Some of the pieces fall off easily too. In hindsight, I wish I hadn't bought this and had gone with something easier to build or a prebuilt toy!
