## Description

Invite the little green fairy over for some absinthe, or absente, and enjoy it the traditional way. This absinthe set includes one bubble absinthe fountain, two stainless steel sugar spoons, and two authentic reservoir pontarlier absinthe glass. Traditional way to go about preparing your absinthe is to first fill the absinthe fountain with cold water. Next, pour 1 ounce or 30 ml of absinthe in the pontarlier glass which will fill the reservoir at the bottom of the absinthe glassware. After that, place the stainless steel sugar spoon on top of the absinthe glass. Place one (ideally, anise) sugar cube on the spoon and open up the dripper. As the water begins to drip it will melt the anise sugar cube and dilute the absinthe within the glass. it suggested to drip six parts water to one part absinthe but you can dilute to your liking. Congratulation, you have now partaken in the most traditional way of consuming absinthe. A tradition that dates as far back to the early 1800's. Oh, one last thing, CHEERS! Absinthe distillation varies widely. By definition, Absinthe is derived from botanicals, namely the leaves and flowers, of Artemisia ABSINTHium ("grand wormwood"). Other common additives are green anise, sweet fennel, and a distillers choice blend of medicinal and culinary herbs. It is said that Vincent van Gogh was an avid absinthe drinker. Review: An Anniversary Gift to Ourselves - We had our honeymoon in New Orleans in 2002 and saw an absinthe fountain on display in one of the shops: glasses, spoons and little sugar cubes. We have been obsessed since. We have bought just about all the books on desertcart with this as the subject and have seen a few documentaries. When we saw this fountain about a year ago it seemed like an extravagant expense. Well, you only go around once, we are assuming so we took the plunge. It is loverly! Delicate, for sure so keep it away from the grand kids! We will try it out this weekend and report back if anything is amiss. Until then, know that it was very well-packed, the 2 glasses were much sturdier and both the glasses and spoons are fairly standard so finding matches for a set was easy. Review: Very nice set for the money - We received the set today and it seems to be decent value for the money. The glasses are thick enough glass to be durable and do well with moderate use. I really like the fact that they have a reservoir for easy measuring. The glass fountain is made from glass that is a bit too thin in my opinion, but as long as you are careful with it that shouldn't be a problem. The spigots are plastic, which honestly I prefer since some of the metal ones can rust over time. The only problem with the set is that one of the spigots will not turn off completely. I'm sure that it's a manufacturing defect and I have contacted the seller to try to resolve this single issue. I will update my review once the spigot issue is resolved. UPDATE: I have heard back from the seller and they have offered to send me a replacement spigot. Once it arrives I will post a second update. SECOND UPDATE: New spigot arrived from seller, works great. Seller was responsive and resolved the spigot issue quickly!

**Q: Spouts leak help! Thisnis mynsecond try to comtact someone..do you address these issues here?**
A: Hi, yes, I received the same type of absinthe fountain (used) and it leaked. It had a very extremely small hair-line crack on the underside of one of fountain horns where it connected to the body. But I fixed it and have had absolutely no problem with it. 
I got some food grade silicone seal from Amazon and just put a thin layer over the crack, and let it dry completely over night. Tested it, worked great. If you clean the crack with alcohol and let it completely dry before you patch it with the silicone seal, the seal will adhere to it and not peal off. (Just make sure the silicone seal is food grade.) I'll include some photos.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful and looks hand made

This is clearly hand blown glass so don't expect symmetrical perfection. The fountain itself is quite delicate. Mine came with sturdy metal spigots, not the plastic ones mentioned in other reviews. That was nice. The parts that go into the glass spouts are clear silicone and they leaked a bit at first, but once they settled in and conformed to the inner shape of the spouts, the leaks stopped. The glasses are nice sturdy Ponsardin style and the spoons have an intricate a jour design. All in all, a great gift and a stunning addition to any bar top.
