Clean and Authentic Wasabi Powder
I purchased this wasabi powder to elevate sushi nights and add genuine heat to sauces and snacks, and it delivers authentic flavor with impressive kick. Authenticity & ingredients: This powder blends real wasabi components, giving it a sharper, fresher taste than generic horseradish-based powders. The flavor has that classic wasabi profile โ bright, nasal-clearing heat with subtle vegetal notes. Flavor & heat: The heat builds quickly after mixing and lingers just long enough without overpowering the dish. Itโs strong but not artificially biting โ the balance leans toward true wasabi rather than cheap substitutes. Mixability & use: It mixes easily with water to make a paste or can be sprinkled directly on dishes. Start with a small amount and adjust to taste; the kick is potent even with modest portions. Versatility: Great on sushi, sashimi, and poke bowls, and it also works well in dressings, dips, marinades, and even some roasted snacks. Things to know: Freshly mixed wasabi flavor is strongest in the first 10โ15 minutes, so prepare it close to serving time for best impact. Powder can clump if stored improperly, so keep it dry. Overall: A high-quality wasabi powder that brings authentic Japanese heat and flavor to meals โ perfect for anyone who wants real wasabi experience without buying fresh stems.

If you seek natural wasabi...this is the best wasabi substitute I've had!
All of the wasabi substitute powders I've seen have chemicals coloring or additives in them. It is very hard to find natural substitute wasabi. Eden is the best I've found if you seek something natural. Eden has nice hotness. I've never eaten real wasabi. But I've eaten the fake wasabi substitute since the 1990s. Here is the deal with elusive wasabi from Goggle... Real wasabi (Wasabia japonica) is rare in the US because it is exceptionally difficult to cultivate, requiring specific, cool, flowing water environments and taking up to two years to mature. Due to high costs ($160+ per kg), short shelf life (flavor lasts ~15 mins after grating), and high demand, most US restaurants use a cheap substitute of horseradish, mustard, and green dye. Key Reasons for Scarcity Extremely Difficult Growth: Wasabi requires very specific conditionsโa cool, humid climate (not hot), shade, and, crucially, clear, running water. It is prone to disease and slow to grow. High Cost and Low Yield: Due to the long, laborious, and sensitive cultivation process (often 18โ24 months), real wasabi is incredibly expensive, creating high wholesale prices. Rapid Flavor Loss: Real wasabi must be grated fresh and loses its signature complex flavor, aroma, and heat within roughly 15 to 30 minutes, making it impractical for standard commercial distribution. Market Dominance of Substitutes: Because authentic wasabi is rare, the vast majority (about 99%) of "wasabi" in the U.S. is actually a mix of horseradish, mustard, and green food coloring. Supply Shortage: Japan, the primary producer, has seen a 70% decrease in production over the last 20 years due to climate change, reducing availability for export. While some boutique farms in North America grow small amounts of wasabi, such as in Oregon and British Columbia, the vast majority of what is served in the U.S. remains the horseradish substitute. I don't know why this wasabi tastes so much better, it just does!
Love Eden wasabi powder. I make a lot of wasabi for maki & handrolls, but I also love to use the powder when I'm making a ramen broth and in various other soups and stir-fries (also, wasabi and asparagus mashed potatoes are soooo good). I wish you could buy it in a larger quantity and for a little less, but it's consistently a good product, so it's the one I use most often.

Tiny container with good product
Tasty wasabi that starts mild becoming very spicy. It has a smooth texture and a muted greenish color. Container is quite small, only 5 servings. It is as advertised, so I guess I should have looked more closely at details of ad. It was carefully packed and sealed.and arrived quickly.

High quality wasabi powder
This is high quality wasabi powder. Great scent and spicy. Forget the ready made ones that come out of the plastic tubes which has more fillers and preservatives. I use a narrow shot glass to make a small portion. It needs to be mixed into a paste. It says add hot water, but I just use cold, the trick is to mix it vigorously. Add some powder, drizzle water, mix well into a paste. (Careful not to put your nose too close to it Lol) It only takes a few seconds prep to enjoy the full flavor of wasabi. Add a little wasabi paste to premium soy sauce to enjoy sushi or add paste into soba tsuyu sauce to make Zaru-soba (Japanese buckwheat noodles)

Worst Wasabi Powder EVER
Ingredients are limited to (in order) horseradish, mustard, wasabi. The powder, and mix with water, both have very little wasabi taste, and really no horseradish or mustard taste for that matter. Perhaps my batch is bad, but it tastes of chemicals and bit musty and old. I tried to return it, but returns are not optional with this product. Total waste.
