Overall, a good purchase.
I've always wanted a piston on top baritone horn. I like the bright sound of a baritone over the heavier sound of a euphonium. I have played the trombone for 40 years, so this is based on that experience. This horn sounds nice, the tuning slides move freely, I don't hear any leaks, I don't see and solder issues, the laquer looks nice, and the pistons go up and down. The first thing I did was to heavily oil the pistons, before I even pushed them down. I will heavily oil them prior to playing every time. The mouthpiece seems to be about the same as a bach 12c. It's a small shank mouthpiece.Apparently the shippers dropped the box pretty hard, because the rim of the bell is bent and as you can see in the photo, there is a crease in the bell. My non brass playing daughter didn't notice until I pointed it out to her. It doesn't affect the sound, so it doesn't really matter to me.I will be using this to play in my local community band. I'm switching from trombone to baritone, because is can get closer to the sheet music!I don't recommend this for a first time player. Rent a horn so your child knows how to take care of one, then buy this one after they have some experience. Keep in mind it has a brighter sound than a euphonium, similar to how a trumpet and cornet sound a little different from each other. For the size picture of me holding it, it looks small because I'm 5'10, 290. The usual shape of a low brass player! The tuner it came with has a clip-on microphone! Very cool!It came with a nice, hard, lightweight case that can be converted to a backpack!Update. 20-NOV-2021. I started to have the sticking valve problem. The valves corroded. I took out the valves and polished them with baking soda, water and dish soap in the palm of my hand with a dishrag. Rinse them off really really well. No more sticking valves! The tuning slides also corroded, so I used brillow pads to rub off the corrosion. This took a LOT of elbow grease, but it works great! I like the sound this horn can make!

Its good
First time pulling the horn from the case, the decorative valve top fell off of the first valve. Little super glue, no biggie. But still a little embarrassing as this was a Christmas present.

They LIED, it's RUSTY & arrived DAMAGED..
Firstly, let me just start off by saying, in the product description, it states that this is a 3 valve COMPENSATING Baritone.. It's not. A compensating baritone has extra tubing to compensate for the pitch of the low notes, this baritone is NOT compensating and therefore it is a lie. Also, as soon as I opened the case the baritone horn came in, I saw that there was a massive crease (like a big fold) in the bell.. I don't think this happened during shipping as the outer box looked fine, and the case itself seems okay, so how did they see this big fold in the bell and still put it in a case and ship it??Not only that but the bell is RUSTED. Yes.. Rust.. on a "Brass'" instrument?? Brass instuments are made of copper + zinc.. both of those metals DO NOT rust, because in order to rust, you need iron.. so this is not a brass instrument.. So that's another LIE.. This also means that you're not able to wash this instrument as you can with brass instruments because when exposed to water it will rust.. Also... your saliva is mostly water... Which means that with time this instrument will rot from the inside out and be unusable..I know $400 is cheap compared to other actual baritone horns.. But they have constantly lied on the product page.. So how do I know what's even true?As you can tell I'm extremely frustrated.. I reached out to amazon for a return, I still don't have enough money for a proper horn, so I'll see if they send me something better.. if not I'll be asking for a refund and I'll keep saving up for a proper instrument..Oh also, as you can see in the pictures, the finish might look okay from afar, but if you look at it from a distance of a foot or less, you can see that it looks like someone rubbed the entire instrument down with rough sandpaper then put laquer over it, there are long circular scratches uniformly throughout the entire instrument.Thoroughly dissatisfied..

Good value for money.
Good value for the money. It has a beautiful sound and feels well made. Valve oil is included and it is needed nearly every time before I play. The valves will be sticky if not oiled before playing. I didn't have to oil my trumpet as frequently, so not sure if this is normal for Baritone or this make. Oververall I am pleased with my purchase.

Great beginnings
I bought this for my 12 year old and she loves it. It came with everything she needed to get started and we ordered books for her to go with it.

Good value for the money
For the money this is a great baritone for a kid in school. Much smaller than the rental one we had. It sounds basically the same. There isn’t a difference in the sound it makes. Everything that is included is nice. The only default that we had was on one of the valves, the button fell off. Which I can just super glue back on.

Nice quality
It was a better deal to buy this then rent one for school. My son is very pleased with his instrument. He said it plays very well and sounds good.

Great quality for very good price
We bought this to replace a very used baritone that my daughter was playing in her school band. It sounds great and came with a nice case. It is much cheaper to buy this than to rent a baritone for $50/month where we live.
