Swing-A-Way Comfort Grip Jar Opener (Black)

I don't want another electrical appliance or gadget taking up valuable counter space. But I did need an aid to help in opening stubborn lids and caps. I saw this model on America's Test Kitchen and they gave it very good reviews. This is the second one I've purchased as a gift for a friend. He's as impressed as I. You just have to remember to use it prongs facing down over the top of any size lid - this may seem counter intuitive. Other than that Bingo! you've done it! This is a great (and manual, no batteries or plugs required) product.

If you don’t have a jar opener then you must get this one! This really grabs the jar and grips it . This works so good I’ve bought a couple more for friends. They really liked the ease of use as well.

When I remember to use it, this thing is dang useful. I am strong and can bang the side of a lid on the counter with great results, but sometimes I’m afraid I’ll miss and have a giant mess to clean up. And sometimes even multiple bangs won’t do the trick (if you thought that’s what she said, well, so did I). This thing is super handy and will likely someday be necessary, especially considering arthritis runs strongly in my family.

The metal is very thin and flimsy, and most of its edges are almost sharp enough to cut my fingers. Still, this jar opener manages to open tight jar lids, with reasonable ease. I am thankful to have it.

I grew up with one of these in my house, and I was so happy to find this online! I have trouble opening jars due to weakness in my hands, and this does the trick every time! Even bought one for a friend after a conversation about her trouble with jars! Don’t hesitate, just get it!

From the first use, this was super easy. Before I ever even turned the lid, you could hear the vacuum seal being broken on the jar I was opening.This offers simple, one hand operation and plenty of leverage.You can easily spend more on one of the many opening aids, but you won't get anything that works better.I've seen, and sold, many of these tools, but this is the one I recommend.

We started looking for a replacement for our old (much larger & more fancy) lid opener and found this swing-away online with good reviews. It was not expensive so we decided to give it a try. When it arrived we were surprised how small it seemed compared with our previous opener but when we gave it a try with a tough jar lid it worked great! This is a great little kitchen helper and which does the job of more expensive units.

Excellent for plastic bottle caps. Very good for lids on glass jars. Adjusts very easily.One Handed Use (or if unable to make a fist to squeeze/hold the handle) can be tricky.

It is not very sturdy and marginally works depending on the lid. Would not buy again and am just too lazy to send it back.
