How do you set the clock?** A: Lift the top half of the egg to expose the inside and the back of the clock. With your thumb or finger, push on the back of the clock, and the clock assembly will pop out of the frame it fits into. Holding the clock assembly on your hand, remove the clear rubber ring that fits around the outside edge of the clock. This exposes the knob on the side of the clock that works just like the setting knob on your watch or bedroom clock. Pull the knob out a fraction of an inch, set the clock, and push the knob back into the clock. Put the rubber ring back around the outside of the clock assembly. Position the clock (is 12:00 at the top?) to go back into its round “frame” and push it back into place. It is a very tight fit and takes both thumbs pushing to get it in. I had to start over several times before I got it to go in evenly all around rather than one side being “seated” and the other side not in the frame at all. I was astonished by its weight lifting it out of the box and the fact that it wasn't just a flimsy trinket -- which I fully expected it to be as inexpensive as it was. It is adorable. It's not too large, about the size of my palm, but it doesn't have to be. The clock, once I figured it out, was easy enough to set (you push it out of the front of the egg and remove the rubber band, pull out the handle a bit, and twist it to your desired time and push it back in. Then replace the rubber band and replace it in the egg). It keeps the time well enough it seems. Mine even came with an extra battery, which was thoughtful of the manufacturer. So, while this would be perfect for a gift... well, it's not. I'm keeping it. My only slight complaint is getting the top were the chanticleer sits open (It was very stiff) and setting the clock itself (the bezel was also stiff to pull out), But I got them and I'm sure with time they'll loosen up. All in all thrilled with my purchase and I'll be checking out other products as well.
