Con-Tact Brand Surfaces Professional Grade Surface Covering, 6 Feet by 2 Feet, Polished Granite

Listed as "Professional Grade" Richard and I were EXTREMELY pleased at the quality and thickness of this product. Having damaged one of the doors in our camper we needed to completely resurface one side of it. Discovering that the original paper covering was no longer available we had to guess at what color we needed. Although listed as "Dark Walnut" the more we looked at the grain the more we thought this was the one we needed so decided to take a risk. The risk paid off! Our only complaint would be that this is definitely NOT 'Dark Walnut'! (See our pictures.) BUT it was the perfect color for what we needed, much redder in real life. How easy is it to apply? After measuring and cutting it to size with the door still hanging we then removed the door from its hinges. Of course we also took off the door handle! Laying the door flat made the job much easier and more accurate. I will say that unless you are a really talented person with more than two hands it will likely require two people to do what we did. Richard and I worked on it together ensuring that the one edge stayed straight. We started at the top of the door and both had dry cloths to rub the covering on. It went on like a charm! This covering is THICK with a good strong adhesive. You will notice that when unraveled the covering is wrinkled. Don't panic! Those come out as you peel and rub. We do NOT recommend you peeling all the backing off before sticking when working on such a large project as a door! Due to the nature of our door we needed to go around the corner and cover the thin edge on the handle side. Noticing the next morning that it wasn't sticking as well as it should be Richard used a heat gun to try and make it stick better. However this didn't completely do the job and so we resorted to super glue! The large, main front side of the door never had any issues though. We experienced no problems with bubbles or peeling on that section and it looks REALLY good! Richard and I would highly recommend this Con-Tact covering. We purchased this product at the prevailing FULL PRICE. We were not requested to do a review but chose to do so. Thanks, Liz

Works to cover a table, but don't expect it to bend over the sides.

Used this to cover and revitalize an ugly old particleboard desk that we were planning to throw out until I found out my employer wanted me to work from home on a permanent basis, which required said desk. The bamboo pattern looks nice and brought a more modern look to a previously boring desk. It's also textured to feel kind of like bamboo. This vinyl surface is much thicker than the traditional contact paper we looked at, but it was very easy to cut with scissors and a razor blade after measuring. The thickness makes it easier to apply than normal contact paper and it doesn't stretch or tear easily. The adhesive is very strong and handled wrapping around the desk edges without coming loose. I used a hair drier to warm it a little before bending it over the edges since the stiffness of the covering doesn't take to wrapping as easily. Overall, we're pleased with the way it turned out.

This is very nice quality vinyl contact veneer. I could find nothing like it (real or vinyl) in the local DIY stores. It matches my existing oak cabinets so closely that no one can tell where I used it. The only negative - and the reason for only 4 stars - is that when the product was rolled up by the manufacturer it developed waves and wrinkles and those areas would not adhere properly to the surface of the cabinet. I ended up using an iron on lowest temperature to flatten out these areas so they would adhere to the cabinet. Other than that, the product was easy to cut - I used a rotary cutter for nice, clean, straight cuts. Any overage was easily trimmed with a sharp blade of a box cutter. The product is thick enough that it can be placed easily in place without folding back on itself. The peel away paper backing is a different story and care must be taken that it does not get stuck to the veneer's sticky side. I ruined one piece because of that. The veneer is also forgiving and can be lifted up for straightening if you are off a bit (at least with the surface I was working with). Highly recommend!

The color in the picture looks like a light to medium brown but when you get the product it's yellow. Not even close. Very bad picture and description.

This is nice and thick should wear well on the shelf where I slide pots and pans in and out. Used to recover 1970 vintage built in shelving (fiber board) and the underside of the wall cabinets. MUST be clean and oil free. I was lazy on the first shelf by the stove and will be using an adhesive spray to reapply. Looks absolutely gorgeous. A little hard to work out "wrinkles" with such heavy material. Am ordering more😀 I am using lighter material for drawer liners

The weight and texture makes it easy to cut even curves because it's not flimsy. Color would have been good for my project. Problem is that there were buckles that not only would not come out (as I had hoped) once adhered to project, but that it must have been buckled so long that it left an imprint and color change. Set of double stripes that I thought could've been reflection, but it is not. Photos show the stripes before I adhered and after. So, basically wasted two feet of product. I will consider purchasing again and hope that I receive better condition. Also dirty because of the scotch or other tape that kept label on. Shouldn't have to try to clean new product.

This product's quality exceeded my expectation. Heavy duty vinyl, perfectly colored and textured. Adhesive was excellent. Precisely what was needed to refinish an inexpensive student desk with class and durability.
