6x6 Polished Copper Post Point

too small.
the caps are pretty enough but they are too small to fit on 6x6 treated posts. I have to choose between sanding each post top to a taper to fit the cap or returning the caps. Figure 20 min sanding per cap, ten caps, two and a half hours work to get the ten caps to fit. Not part of the plan. For $12 per cap they should fit. Insofar as they are attached using adhesive, being a bit large would be a benefit, so wtf, folks? Miserly engineering? No returning customer here.

does NOT fit a treated 6x6 post correctly or without modifying the post
These MAY fit a cedar post, but will not fit a standard 6x6" treated post. Be careful when reading the reviews, many are about a 4x4" post...not a 6x6" post. The caps are exactly 5.5" x 5.5" as are most posts. This leaves the top perimeter of the post exposed unless you sand/taper the post, and that is tough to do on a deck/porch already in place

it prevents the rain from soaking the top of my posts and looks good. So I'm happy with them
Very thin metal. Does not fit a 6x6 inch treated lumber post. I had to trim the post slightly but I have the tools to do that, so not a big deal. I wanted holes on two sides to put in screws to make sure the cap didn't come off and had to be very careful in doing that to make sure I didn't get too close to the edge. Still, it prevents the rain from soaking the top of my posts and looks good. So I'm happy with them!

Nice EXCEPT. Will not fit my standard 6x6 PT post. Almost 3/4" too small.
Problem is not quality. It was copper and well made. Problem is it was advertised to fit a 6x6 wood post but is too small. I have a new post installed to hang a gate on driveway. It is a stock, off-the-shelf 6x6x10' pressure treated post from local lumber yard but the cap will not fit.

Too small for "6x6" pressure treat fence post
Too small for cedar color "6x6" pressure treat fence post. The caps will probably work if I file down the posts a bit but I'm not eager to do that

Decent, would buy again.
They look good. Dimensions are spot on. Be careful not to use too much force on them when "installing" them. Don't push down too hard or you're likely to dent them as I did one one of the three I got; the metal is kinda thin.

Good Value.
The caps are a good value. Copper plate SS with a nice finish and good lines. You will have to clip the corners of you posts with a chisel to accommodate the rounded corners on the cap.

Sturdy with good fit.
Sturdy caps that fit perfectly on 6 X 6 milled post. Easily attach with outdoor construction adhesive.
