It has 5 preset settings and the LCD screen is clear and bright enough to be able to see what is displayed, it also changes colour once the iron is ready for the mixture to be poured in. the waffles themselves are heavenly they have deep ridges so that you can put your choice of topping and the waffles are perfectly done crispy on the outside but soft fluffy on the inside and you can choose how darker or light you want them to be I generally have it set to the default sometimes I set it a setting or two below default but mainly I use the default setting.
