Mitutoyo 050083-10 Depth Base Attachment, 75 mm

Adds much improved verticle stability for dial mic. The broad heavy base as well as its verticle attaching channel have machined & polished contact surfaces. Thy large knurled thumb screw has beveled contact surfaces that encourage accurate alignment of the base w/ the mic arm. Since the mics Extended Depth arm is not firmly captured in the mics base channel ( it can be moved w/ slight effort back and forth & side to side ) high repeatable accuracy may be more of a function of technique (not the fault of base). By-the-way, the case for the mic I bought ( 500-196-30 ) DOES have a recess for this base. Made in China but in Mitutoyo box w/ part nr. & description.

As almost everyone else notes, it is way too snug a fit in the Mitutoyo case for 4" and 6" Mitutoyo calipers. A press fit into the cavity where fit seems to be slowly improving due to case plastic flow.

Great tool. Fits and works very accurately. Better than the Tesa depth foot.

Very well made, works great but does not fit the case for my Mitutoyo 500-196-30 calipers very well.

This base is made well i had to shave off a little of the plastic case for it to fit no big deal

Quality base.

Fits perfectly and works very accurately on my 8 inch Mitutoyo Absolute Zero caliper.

Works great, but annoyingly does not fit well in the caliper's case.

Good quality depth gage base for Mitutoyo (and probably many other) vernier caliper
