My bunnys and guinea-pigs love this.
Ive got through a lot of different hays over the years with varying success. Some my animals love and first but then it goes off quickly in the air/once the bag is open. Others are full of dust. This is by far my favourite and a good midrange price too. Good points: I love the fact its compressed, not only does it take up less space, it makes less mess and most importantly for me they hay keeps its flavour for longer so my animals keep loving it right to the bottom of the bag. -The quality control is good. Although there can be little bits of dust at the bottom overall you can trust what you are getting will be the same each time and there wont be wilkd fluctuations in quality. -There are a wide range of types/flavours in the burgess hay range but this is by far my favourite. It has a lovely wide range of flavours and textures which helps keep my animals and especially my rabbits interested as they easily get bored. -It has a gorgeous rich smell that I like and the animals. As soon as I open a bag the smell wafts out and again the compacting of it means the smell stays fresh in the bag. -Importantly for me I like the fact it has some firmer textures in their and soft ones because I know they are helping to work down their teeth Cons-Whilst I love the mix of textures including firmer ones I know that could be problematic for those who spread it round on the floor/use it as bedding or have especially small animals. (Although my guinea-pigs climb into their haybox with no problems!) -There are cheaper brands out there. Whilst it is by far not the most expensive it is also not the cheapest. Id say this is a midrange and for me it is worth it because my animals love it equally but for many that would be offputting for something you have to buy so often. -The fact it is so tightly compressed can/could make it difficult to remove if you have hand/joint problems as it is tightly packed and the firmer pieces alongside the packing may cause minor scratches which could be problematic for those with certain health conditions who have bleeding conditions. I personally have hypermobility with arthritis and bruise/scratch easy but am able to cope fine but imagine for those more severely effected you may have to cut the bag open and put into a different container or use a different type of hay.

Bunnies and Guinea Pigs Give This Hay 10/10!
Access to an unlimited amount of good quality hay is vital for rabbits and guinea pigs is crucial. It's said that a rabbit can eat the equivalent of their size in hay, sometimes more. Guinea pigs are eating machines and will eat masses of hay in a day. I have had bunnies and guinea pigs for years and have tried countless hays and this is their absolute favourite. It's a good quality hay, fairly soft, but with a few stalky bits which are great for keeping the teeth of rabbits with good teeth down. For rabbits with teeth issues, I find that they can eat this better than other hays. You have to be careful with guinea pigs burrowing into hay as sharp bits can scratch their eyes. Feeding from a hay rack can reduce this risk, as can putting hay flat on the ground instead of in a big bundle. Because this hay is quite soft, it's a lower risk. It has lots of dandelion flowers in it, which both bunnies and piggies love. The hay is vacuum packed into a plastic bag and it can be a bit tricky to get out. But there is much more hay than it looks like there is. I think it's great value and every bit is eaten, so there is no waste. In summary it's a great all round hay and I highly recommend it.

My rabbits couldn't get enough of this
This is the only hay my three rabbits will actually eat with enthusiasm. I'd tried lots of hay, from a pet store's own branded meadow and Timothy hay, generic hay from a supermarket and even bought bales of freshly cut meadow, orchard and Timothy hay from local farms. I bought this from Amazon to tide us over until we could get to the pet store and purchase some more hay, as we'd run out and I could get this same day. I left some in our rabbit's hay racks and, by the morning, they'd scoffed the lot. Although it's expensive, it's clearly good quality and expensive for a reason. If you want hay that your rabbits are going to actually eat then this hay gets all of our three rabbits' approval.
