Does this work for the ipad pro 12.9 (4th gen)?.

It will work on any mobile touch screen. The only thing with which it doesn't work in my experience is Windows Ink enabled devices.

does it scratch the surface of ipad?

I use it on my ipad air 3 and did not find scratch.

does it work on my iphone 7?

I have a iphone 7 plus. This stylus works well on my 7plus. I think it should works on iphone 7 too.
