This is a very competent torch. If you need a wide area covered it’s good for around 80-100 feet. And it’s bright. As you narrow the beam with the adjustable focus, it just goes on for ages, like a very powerful spotlight. It’s reassuringly heavy and feels durable, well engineered and well made. Unlike the ‘mega’ torches, it will fit comfortably in your coat pocket. I charged it up and left it to drain and it ran for about two hours. It maintained its brightness pretty much until it went flat. With the regular battery back up option in the form of a simple double AA cylinder, you're good to go if the rechargeable unit goes flat. Also comes in a very secure case. This would suit all users, hunters foxing, house owners covering emergencies, sailors spotting buoys, campers and caravanners doing the late night dog walk, and preppers alike.
