The seller says these tongue scrapers are pure copper. However, I have been using mine for a few months, and it appears they are copper coated instead of pure copper. The scraper looks as though a copper coating is rubbing off, revealing a stainless steel color underneath the copper. You can see the metal under the copper at the top and bottom edges in the photo.

These are most likely made from pure copper wire, but in terms of anti-bacterial use, they are great. When they get oxidized, don't throw them away! Simply stick the tongue cleaning side inside a cut lemon and let it sit for 20-30 minutes and they will shine again. Repeat as needed, they should really last you forever.

This is a great value for tongue scrapers! It is made of pure copper and has a metallic taste when using in your mouth. The scraper bends easily to adjust to your mouth size. It does not make me gag when I use it in my mouth.The real reason I bought these scrapers, however, was to see if the antimicrobial properties of copper would stop a cold if the end of the tongue scraper was placed in my nose. I am only able to get the end of the scraper up one side of my nose so maybe the ends of these are too large. I attempted to use pliers on them to make the end of the scraper smaller, but the copper was hard to bend to a different shape. I tried placing this in my nose when my throat felt scratchy, but it didn't seem to make a difference. However, my husband used his in his nose when he felt a cold coming on, and he thought his cold was not as intense.5 stars because this is a tongue scraper and it does scrape our tongue well! Since it is not meant to be placed in the nose, I won't deduct stars, but the verdict is still out on whether or not it works to stop/lessen colds if placed in nose.(According to another copper device meant to be placed in nose, if their pure copper device is rubbed around the bottom half of the sinus cavity for 1 minute on each side, it should stop colds if used within 3 hours of first signs of sickness.)

First, this is the best price for a quality copper tongue scraper/cleaner on Amazon. Better than brushing your tongue with your toothbrush. The length of the handles is sufficient to reach the back of your tongue without stick your fingers in your mouth. The thickness of the scrapping/cleaning paddle is perfect to get a clean scrape and still hold it's original shape after bending to stow it away. I stow mine in a fat toothbrush travel tube (1.5" diameter) to protect it from contamination between uses, and when I pull it out, it springs right back to the original shape. That is important because the curvature should stay smooth and not get a kink in the cleaning padel. The knobs on each end make it easy to use (grip). The instructions remind you to be gentle to avoid damaging your tastebuds (thank you for that). BE GENTLE! It's own weight is sufficient to do the job - don't put down-pressure on it. Finally, the cleaning padel is nicely radiused and polished to prevent damage (cutting) your tongue or taste buds.

I had no idea these things even existed. Absolutely fantastic product! I use it every day and it is crazy how much extra gunk you can scrape off a tongue, even after you scrub it with a toothbrush. For those with kids, this removes all the nasty white off their tongue. Just brush your tongue afterward and you will have perfect smelling breath. They clean up nicely and can be washed in the dishwasher. They can be a bit flimsy if use incorrectly (bent). My kid has already broke 3 but I am still on my first and we have used these everyday since we purchased them.EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE THESE. They really are amazing.

I bought a pack of stainless steel scrapers and like them. I thought I would love copper, but these are super flimsy, don’t hold their shape and came with tarnish spots in the package. I tried to return and amazon said it wasn’t eligible. Now I’m looking for the seller’s info to contact them and can’t find that either. Thumbs down. 👎🏻

I stow one of these in both my bathrooms and even my purse so I can use it whenever I feel like cleaning my tongue. It's super easy to sanitize and wash, and I like the edges of these better than my older one. They work great, and I swear by this practice. The first thing I do when I wake up each day is to scrape my tongue and rinse out my mouth. I don't even like to have water in the morning before doing it because I feel like I'm dumping all that bacteria back into my body. No idea if it does anything aside from easing my own anxiety about good bacteria, but I will say that I never have bad breath after using these!

What can be said that hasn't been said already, these are amazing at an INCREDIBLE PRICE!!! I actually bought the a stainless steel tongue scraper recently, ONE for the price I paid for 12 of these!! I still like the stainless steel one but these copper ones really rock. I'm saving some and giving some to family. My husband and I both love these, I originally bought these because I was looking to get him a tongue scraper since I already had the steel one but after trying these I switched and use this one most.I have arthritis and also hyper mobile fingers so it's a bad combo and often have trouble using my hands but I had no problems with this and even was able to use it one handed as well. My mouth feels better after using this copper one too, seems like it stays cleaner longer, not sure why but that's how it's been. Waking up now I don't have super icky morning breath if I use this before going to bed, pretty awesome at an insanely great price.
