It is simple and produces a really nice professional topping.It comes with everything you need except for the N20 (nitrous oxide) cartridges and the cream itself as well as any additives you may desire. The directions are clear. I was a little disappointed there were no recipes included. I am sure you can add all kinds of things, but it would have been nice to test out a tried-and-true recipe first then experiment with more exotic mixes afterwards. I am sure I can look up recipes, but it would be simple to add them. Also, the directions came in a book with a ton of languages. I cut off 7/8 of the book and tossed it. I would rather have the recipes in that direction book.The photos are accurate. So are the videos and illustrations.I worked out the cost per oz of what it cost to buy a can of whipped cream in the store and what it cost to produce an ounce of whipped cream with this dispenser. Without going into all the details, you will save about ½ the price and produce a better product. (this includes the cost of cartridge, cream, flavorings, sugar, etc.).
