It feels a little scratchy when you first receive it, but it gets a lot softer after washing. It soaks up dye well and I haven't had any problems with it running or fading. The yardage is also great. I prefer socks that are long, so I use a pretty good amount of yarn for a pair of socks, and I still had enough leftover after making the socks I wanted to make some squares for my scrap blanket. I purchased the lemon drop colorway and it is very nicely dyed. It is a variegated yarn, but at my gauge on US 2 (2.75 mm) they are knitting up like a stripe with random width stripes. I'm knitting a 48 stitch sock with a 3x1 rib. The first sock is completed in 2 days of inconsistent work and I really enjoyed the knitting. The yarn doesn't feel super soft, but it's not rough and the sock looks and feels like it will last. I also appreciate that the yarn is both washable and dryable as it is going to my sister's house and not staying with me.
