The material feels like butter soft leather, very supple and with a very light texture. I read some of the reviews that said the lining gets caught in the zippers, but I have not had that problem, although it does seem like there is more fabric in the lining than would be strictly necessary, as though it were made for a larger bag. The zippers work smoothly and feel nice. The decorative zipper pulls are very cute, although they do swing and make a little noise as I walk, but it is not loud, just distracting. The bag is medium large but not huge, just the size I was looking for. Everything I need to put in it fits with room for a paperback when I need one, and I love all the pockets. I was searching for a purse with a lot of little pockets to help with organization. The current trend in purses seems to be either one huge tote where everything is in a jumble, or little bitty kid size purses. This is the perfect size. The zippers are also nicely made, I'm guessing the people saying they get stuck aren't making sure the inner lining is out of the way before trying to zip it up. I love all the outside pockets and there is lots of room inside the handbag. I was worried that it might be too big or too small but for me, it is a perfect size.
