Makes great coffee and great value.

After selling my espresso machine, this was a life saver whilst waiting for the replacement. The quality is great and it makes great coffee too.

Now I can make two cups at once, on those occasions when the wife suddenly wants one too, while I'm making one for myself! Used to Aeropress for years now, I decided I had to give pour-over a try, and I love it! Slightly more tedious to brew a cup but the result is well worth it. I find it a far more satisfying cup later in the day, although I do still like the old Aeropress for the first cup when I wake up. Not cheap for this set, but I think it still represents good value for money, and better than buying the individual components separately.

Get a hand-cranked grinder as well and you are all set. 21g, 350ml water (Brita filter for water also recommended for an even better final taste). And you are good to go - 2-3 medium-small cups. Double the numbers and get twice as much. The taste is really nice as the V60 filter removes the heavy oily/nutty accents. Really happy with the purchase.

No había utilizado este método de percolación de café y pensé podría ser complicado, la realidad es que es sencillo y da un muy buen resultado. Es un hecho que para que se le saque buen provecho es necesario un molino que brinde un resultado uniforme en los granos y una báscula que permita medir de manera precisa tanto agua como café. En lo personal considero que usar un café de supermercado no es la mejor opción para este tipo de cafetera. Con esos accesorios auxiliares (y un buen café de especialidad) no tengan duda que disfrutarán un café delicioso.

After buying a Hario syphon, and experimenting with some random V60 copycats (I'm looking at you Melitta), I decided to jump in and try the original V60 by their creators. The flask is very well done, made of great and clean glass, as expected from Hario. The inclusion of a carafe cap is a nice touch. The paper filters are also very clean, and they don't add any smells to the brewing process. The spoon is convenient, but since I weight my coffee to the gram, I didn't have much use for it. The quality of the actual V60 filter holder is great, made of heavy heat resistant plastic, well molded and all, but looking at the pictures you might be led to thinking that it is also made of glass. Now, it makes sense it is made of plastic, since glass absorbs (and radiates) heat pretty well, so it would be a little difficult to handle it without getting burned. Compared to the other V60 copycats, brewing is fast enough to produce a coffee cup in less time than the others. It might not be the force push of an Aeropress, but it is considerable time less than the Melitta copycat. Though the taste is pretty similar, the aroma is a little different, with an unusual sweetness rather than acridness. That might be related to the paper filters included in the kit. My recommendation for prospective buyers would be to also buy a goose neck teapot, to aid with the pour over process, since it is more precise that just a regular spout. Finally, congratulations Amazon for the dedication and carefulness on shipping this delicate object over my country. It was incredibly well packed, with good padding all over.
