Awesome bio!
As a child of the 80’s, I always looked up to Tony Hawk. This book is an awesome encapsulation of his career with some funny snippets of stories thrown in. If you like skating, followed the bones brigade, or just want to learn about Hawk, this is a great read.

Inspiring
I've always been a fan of Tony Hawk, I first heard of him back in the 80s and I've been a keen follower of his career ever since. This book is well written with some good laughs and gives an insight into Tony's ups and downs throughout his career. When most people think of Tony Hawk they automatically think he had an easy run to where he is, this book will show you just how much hard work he put in (which he still does today) and the adversity he overcame to become the legend he now is.Totally inspired me to get back on my board a lot more regularly. Tony teaches us that age is no barrier to skating, it just takes a bit longer to get back up.

Must have for skate enthusiasts!
I read this book all the time in middle school (I'm in college now) and it really helped get me by through the rough times and imagined my life like Hawk's through this wonderful book. It's friendly for all ages and has truth, no sugar coating stories. After years of tracking down this, I'm glad I finally get to say I own a copy instead of continuously renting from my local library like I have for so long. Couldn't recommend this enough.

Old school to new school--Tony Hawk Rules!
I am a fat forty-year-old ex-skater now, but I loved reading Tony's book and getting some insight as to what was going on during the years when he was idolized for his insane abilities. Being from the East Coast the only thing we ever saw Tony in was the Bones Brigade videos back in the '80s and his scenes always blew everyone's minds. It was cool to read his thoughts during those times and see what he was going through. He was always a good ambassador for skating and it is nice to see him doing well in his post-skating career. Get the book, read it.

A fun read.
This was a fun and easy book to read, especially, if you followed the Bones Brigade back in the 80’s. I would not say the writing was especially great, though. Overall, fun for the summer, if not light on the details.

Great read about the "father" of modern skateboarding.
I read this book about 10 years ago and thought it was really good. I decided to buy the Kindle edition just to see if it had been updated in anyway, like if they'd been some extra chapters added on what Mr Hawk had been up to since the publication. Sadly, it doesn't seem to have been updated but it's still a good read. One thing I noticed this time however, is how many times Tony talks about how skateboarding isn't about competing and beating other skaters but more about having fun and learning with your friends, yet he constantly brings up his wins at contests. A slightly odd thing to do. I mean, if skating isn't about winning contests and excelling, why do you bring your wins up?Another thing I noticed was how the "second half" of the book seems a lot shorter than the first half.It seems like there's only a handful of chapters dedicated to 1990-2002 while over half the book was set during his early years with the Bones Brigade. I suppose that could be because those ear;y years impacted his career more. It's still a good read though..If I wasn't old and creaky, this book would have inspired me to buy a skateboard and attempt to learn to how to "fakie to backslide varial 720".

Amazing Read
This book is incredible, if you are a skateboarder you must must own and read this book he is an icon of my generation of skateboarders like 90s kids etc lol, I will keep the sport alive by only stop skating when I feel that I am to old to do it not when people tell me or think I am, and i personally hope he keeps on shredding untill he is a pensioner lol respect.I Give This 5 stars, Highly recommend it It is an insight to what a skateboarder endures to become the best in his/her sport even though people tend to take the Mic a bit because they do not understand the sport, cant wait to read it again on the train tomorrow lol :)

Entretenido y ameno.
No se hace para nada aburrido y si te apasiona el mundo del skate y eres fan de Tony Hawk, te recomiendo leer este libro. Cuenta con varias anécdotas del propio Hawk sobre sus experiencias personales y con el skate. Está muy chulo.
