Great lens for a fraction of the price of the good Sony ones
I've had my Sony A7 for a few years now and I've been just been using the kit lens, I love landscape photography and figured it was time to invest in a wide angle Prime lens. Limited budget and whilst I'd love one of the Sony GM lenses, they're way beyond my price point and when searching for good budget alternatives this popped up. Read some reviews and watched some videos online and decided to go for it.Received it last night and updated the firmware (really easy and same process pretty much as updating my Sony lens, plug the camera into the PC and run the program, no extra kit required). Went to a local park today to test it out and really pleased with the performance. The landscape shots are expansive and have a nice level of sharpness and the macro ability is a nice bonus, love the bokeh effect on the picture of the flower posted which makes it look like it's floating. Will be interested to see how they turn out when using a tripod.I'm no professional, but very pleased with the purchase. Maybe one day I'll be in a position to get a GM lens, but this will definitely do the job for me and for £236 I'm very happy.

Great picture quality
Slightly noisy auto focus but other than that this is an absolute bargain lens

Really good but noisy
The lens is absolutely a beast at this price range.I have given 5 stars for what this lens is in this price range when compared with the high end ones.If I would compare it with high end ones, I would probably give 2 stars, but let’s not forget the price we pay for it.The glass is amazing for this price, of course again we can’t compare it with the G series from Sony, but again those cost a fortune. The focus is not very fast and it’s a downside when you have a camera with the best focus on the market, but it’s not terrible. The picture quality is over-exceeding if you look at this from the point of view of what price you pay for the lens. The only really bad thing is that is very noisy when used with certain apertures. When the aperture is opened to maximum, the noise is not a big issue. But when used at higher apertures above 16, then the noise becomes a problem.Initially I thought I received a faulty one, but after exchanging it and trying a few more, I realised that the noise is expected.I also started to hear this noise on my 28-75, but because the lens is bigger, you can’t really hear it that well, as the housing takes some of that noise and vibration.A friend of mine also realised that he hears the same noise on 28-75, but you can find it only if you look for it on that lens.On this lens, you can hear it really well.I guess it’s a compromise we can live with, if we want a good, cheap and portable lens.Overall I really love what this lens can do.

Great lens
Lots going for it: razor sharp across the frame wide-open; minimal aberrations; lightweight yet sturdy build; fantastic value. Autofocus is poor, but for what I’m using it for that doesn’t matter. Also a bit larger than it needs to be, which is because Tamron are trying to keep the same filter size across their range (like Zeiss Batis). Did I mention it was unbelievably sharp wide-open? Highly recommended.

Solid 24mm with some obvious flaws
For still photography this is a decent lens, It's image quality isn't bad - I use it with my Sony A7RIII.The auto focus is quite slow, but what's worse is its VERY loud. If you're planning to use this for videography then you'll need to switch over to manual and focus yourself which is fine for most shots but is definitely a downside. In addition the 2.8 aperture is pretty dark as expected.Very small form factor though so great for travel. All in all it's a well priced entry level 24mm with some flaws that are expected at this price range.

Tamron 24 mm lens
It is a sharp lens. I've used it on holiday. Also can focus very close.

Auto focus mode does not work on the Sony a7 IV
I have returned this lens just because anytime I wanted it’s shoot video. The lens would change its self to manual focus and the only way to get it back is to go to photo mode and back into video where you will have autofocus for about a minute before going back to manual. Useless for me unless all you do is photos where this lens will work great for you.

Lente Tamrom 24mm
The media could not be loaded.
