Right on the Money!
Lonely Planet has managed to hit on most of the highlights from Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, and Vienna. Where to go , what to see are very good suggestions. To early for me to comment on the eating recommendations. Also it appears that they only named a few places to sleep. There are manny more hotels available from different price ranges , that was only glanced upon.Great pictures, decent maps, and good advice on traveling

good overview
Gives a good overview of the region. Like any guidebook that fits a large region into one book, it necessarily leaves out a lot of details, so I've relied on other e-guidebooks and lots of internet reviews for more detailed planning, but it was great to give me a sense of where I wanted to focus my time for my upcoming trip.

Good overview
Good information for an overview of Central Europe. I usually use Frommer's Guides so I am familiar with their layout. I am not used to using Lonely Planet, so it is hard for me to use. I did get good information though.

excellent investment
Although not perfect--haven't found a perfect one yet--it was an excellent resource on a recent trip. Actually saved us money by pointing out decent places to eat that were not expensive. So it was worth the investment.

This book was good for preliminary planning
This book was good for preliminary planning . . . but once you get to where you wanted to go, plenty of helpful locals to ask for secret local gems. Still glad I bough this book.

Quick guide but not a complete book
Book is really sort of a preview of another book so I got some great tips but you will need to buy the full book to get all the info I expected.

The fact it was an e-book was excellent!
It was a little dated, but generally helpful! Because it was covering SO much territory, nothing was covered very thoroughly. The fact it was an e-book was excellent!

This is exactly what I need for a proposed rail travel holiday through Central Europe. All the main cities covered very well.
