Good replacement for cast iron, but metal takes longer to absorb heat so cooks differently and unevenly compared to the cast iron

It would be great if the content on products were all clear on what was exactly included in packaging. When I ordered this I could not find whether the mounting clip was included since it is a split grate instead of whole like the original. I did ask in the question section regarding this and saw that it did not, so I ordered one separately. Upon opening the new grates, there is indeed a mounting clip included. We've not installed or used them yet to comment on ease of cleaning, but I suspect they are and they are quite sturdy as well.

I have a Weber Q1200. I noticed that many of the reviews complained about the size of these grates. If you are careful in obtaining Weber's measurement's as I did and comparing those measurements with the measurements given by the manufacturer, I think you'll be satisfied with the fit of your grate. I have found stainless steel to be much easier to clean than porcelain or cast iron grates that come with this Weber grill The only reason I didn't rate the grate as a 5 is because the attachments to the bottom of the great as seen in the picture make it a little harder to clean. I would like to know however why those attachments are there in the first place. I suspect it has something to do with distribution of the heat and protection of the gas distribution tubing. All circumstances considered, I am very satisfied with my purchase.
