Digital Thermometer with Indoor, Outdoor Temperature and Daily High and Lows (00424CA), White

Just got my AucTite Digital Thermometer. It was so easy to put into a working mode. The instructions were perfect!! I’m 81 and it was a snap. I put the outdoor sensor in a water proof bag and hung it beside my outside back door. As soon as the sensor and display were in perfect communication, it was on! It is easy to read and the accuracy is exact! I always want to know the temperature so this is long overdue!! I wish I’d have done it years ago. I recommend! I love it!!

Works as described. The distance covered is 52ft in my case. I have the sensor installed in the greenhouse and receiver in the kitchen. Pretty accurate too.

Works great. An updated version of one we used for over ten years that finally stopped working. This new and improved version has a smaller base and tips over much easier than the older, slightly larger version. Still a great thermometer

I've used these (4 sending units without display) for 10 years. Despite them being for "outdoor" use, you must protect them from precipitation (rain/snow) and direct sunlight. Under an eve would work, but you would need a ladder to change batteries. I used spent powder bottles cut in half over them and one #6 sheet metal screw. They are not calibrated, needed to be adjusted a degree or two (my receiver allows this). Humidity was within 15-20%. These are the only outdoor models that work with my system (except water presence-sensing units). 2 failed on me after a few years for not protecting them well enough from rain. Change batteries once a year to avoid doing so in snow.

I have purchased several thermometers here over the years, and I will honestly say the Accurite is the only one that reads and reports CORRECT temperature outside. I also have an Accurite weather station and the temps are absolutely synchronous. It matches temperature gauges of the LCRA and the local bank time and temperature. I have found my "go to" brand of outdoor thermometer. I do not work for, nor am asked to endorse this brand. This comes entirely from my own experience. Poo-poo on all the others. I shall stick with this one. Seller was exceptional as well (just threw that in as a side note) If you want a decent outdoor thermometer then I reccomend this brand. Overall, pleased with this purchase. ~ AD

This unit works well in cold or heat, but in the outside transmitter part it takes 2 AAA batteries. Those batteries do not fit into the unit properly. They are not long enough to get a tight fit in the battery compartment. So if the unit is moved, the battery or batteries lose contact, and the unit is turned off … does not transmit to the indoor unit. But the indoor continues to display the last temp it received. I moved the out door unit today, and it was sending 91 degrees to indoor unit. After the sun went down it still read 91 on indoor unit. I pulled the battery from the indoor unit and replaced it, and the outdoor temp did not come on. I went out side and brought that unit back in the house. I popped the battery cover and sure enough neither battery was connected to the negative springs. I stretched the negative coil/spring and that holds the batteries fairly, but not securely. I will tinker with it a little and figure out how to secure them permanently. I do not recommend a purchase of this unit.

This has been convenient for checking current temperature outside (which is always a bit different than the weather network) and to keep track of the highs and lows. Seems accurate, depending on where you place the detector. Has also easily persevered through 40C to -30C, and the batteries last for like a year.

I have had two previous temperature monitors and this one is by far the most easy to set up and read , nothing fancy just the temp indoors and out .very good value and has been reliable to date there is a battery level indicator.

Simple design that sits well. Easy to read digits.

Good size and easy to see/read. Would add one more star if it were to have 0.1 accuracy.
