Didn't get the glass one - but doesn't look to be insulated from the picture. The metal one is double-walled which provides a bit of insulation. But I don't think that the space between outer and inner walls is a vacuum (cf thermos flask) and there will be some heat loss through spout and lid. So insulating properties are a little limited. We always use a tea cosy. But it's still a great teapot. Infuser very effective but pot can also be used without infuser for teabags. Cant recommend highly enough ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Infuser doesn't reach to bottom of pot *by H***Y on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 April 2020* One of the key claims in the description is the infuser reaches to the bottom of the pot so you can make even the smallest amount of tea. This is just not true. The first mug of water (8 UK floz 250ml) is completely below the infuser level. If you add another mug of water you cover only the bottom 1/2" (10mm) or so of infuser holes, which isn't going to allow for much brewing after the initial pour.
