Solid and reliable
Extremely well made. I use this for XQD cards, which required an additional driver. The process of downloading and installing was quick and easy.Prior to this reader I had a Sony reader which didn’t live up to the use and abuse of a traveling photographer. So far so good with this unit.

Does the job well for CFexpress type B
I didn't measure the transfer speed, but I will confirm that it is fast. I use the reader to transfer large photo and video files taken with a Nikon Z9 to an Apple Macbook Pro. There are not a lot of good options out there that are Thunderbolt compatible. At the time of this review, ProGrade, the manufacturer of the Cobalt cards I use, has not had their own brand of Thunderbolt 3 PG04 CFexpres Type B card reader in stock in recent weeks. It is shown on their site as "sold out." I got tired of waiting on them to stock their product and decided to go with the Blackjet. There are many USB C readers on the market to choose from, but I am glad I purchased a Thunderbolt 3 compatible reader for the better transfer speed. The Blackjet TX-1CXQ has a thick metal housing and feels like it is well made. I have to be careful while inserting cards to make sure the metal housing around the card insert opening does not scrape the cards. My recommendation for Blackjet would be to coat or cover the housing edges around the card insert opening that will prevent it from scuffing cards. Overall, this card reader is highly recommended.

Not worh the money
I purchased this Item for the use of my new XQD Express cards. I don't know if it is just mine but this thing sucks. every-time to try to access the card I have to fight with it to allow me to download my data. It continues to shut down and it wont even read my regular non Express cards. the driver provided from the developer just do not work. WHAT A WAIST!

Love it!!
I am so very happy to have found and tried this little device. It is quite sturdy and tough, but not too heavy - I would say, built in just the right way for production use.And I never want to miss those speeds ever again.Never before was I able to offload cards this fast.Yes - you should also opt for fast enough Thunderbolt storage, but it is a pleasure to dump cards in 2 or 3 minutes. (Used to be closer to 40 minutes per card.)Cards do get quite warm, but not searing hot.

XQD support in Windows requires an external driver
I chose this product because I have used products from this manufacturer before and have found them to be of high quality. I was surprised to find that for XQD support in Windows, an external driver has to be installed AND secure boot has to be disabled in the BIOS. This is a non-starter for me. Going back to my $25 XQD/SD reader and will look for a cheaper CF express solution. Shame, hardware build is top notch and love the thunderbolt interface.

Needs a designated thunderbolt outlet. Not any USB "C" outlet.
I have a new XPS DEll desktop tower. It has a USB "C" outlet but if there is no thunderbolt insignia on that outlet this unit will not be compatible with this computer. I purchased this item and found this out from the manufacturer.

BLAZING SPEED
I bought this for my new Canon C500II since I had trouble connecting the Sandisk reader. I figured out the problem with the included reader, but will be keeping the Blackjet reader because it's roughly 6 times faster. I've never transferred footage faster.
