Bourbon Barrel Kentuckyaki, 375 ml

Bought this at a good price for Black Friday and have thoroughly enjoyed cooking with it. Adds a nice, smoky undertone to the teriyaki flavor. Has worked great in stir fries and really adds compliment to dishes!

It may be a bit pricey but it is flat out the best marinade for flank steak teriyaki I have found in a bottle. I inherited a recipe from a Hawai'i Gas Company natural gas bill form the mid-sixties that was, undoubtedly the best, but that recipe has disappeared after several moves. This Kentuckyaki sauce gets very close. I also use it for dipping sushi, since it has far less sodium than even lite shoyu, but still packs plenty of flavor.

Product is superb. Has a soft Bourbon flavor but not overwhelming. We used it for a marinade on steaks we put on the grill. For two people we used 1/3rd of the bottle in the marinade. A bit pricey to use in this fashion but it was kind of a cooking experiment for us. One negative - bottle was delivered properly shrink wrapped sealed but cap was broken beneath the seal, likely from over tightening at the factory, did not appear to be a shipping error. Overall a superior product and worth the $.

If you're looking for a new marinade, or just a delicious liquid seasoning this is the sauce for you!!

EDIT** 2/15/2019 My new bottles directly from the company now list the sodium content at 330mg/15mL for the regular version. After several calls to the company, I still don't have an answer to why that has changed. They say the recipe has not changed, the product may have been reanalyzed during testing, and had the content list adjusted. They say the new label is correct, so that's what I have to go by now. Not exactly convinced as to their answer, but I would no longer consider this low sodium. Removing 1 star.Original Review: It's very difficult to find a good tasting teriyaki sauce if you're on a low sodium diet. This product has 105mg per Tablespoonful (15mL). Others compare at 300-400mg/15mL. None of the low sodium teriyaki sauces (Mrs. Dash, etc) have any flavor at all. I would use this product all the time, even if I didn't need the lower sodium. The price is kinda high - but I feel well worth it, given the lack of other tasty options. I use it to marinate chicken, onion and green pepper wedges, and pineapple rings - then grill them all up.*NOTE* I did order the spicy version as well, and the sodium was much higher (300mg/15mL), so just be aware of that. I did not try the spicy one, so can't speak to taste.

If they has ten stars I would give it. This stuff is great I use it on many different things and always love the flavor. Put some pork chops in a vacuum bag and seal with it inside. Awesome!!!!

Hmm. I marinated chicken in this for 24 hours and the flavor was barely there. This is nothing special or out of the ordinary. Sad but true.

This is not bad, but not what I wanted. Not at all sweet. Very ginger-y.
