A lovely thought provoking set of books which make a great gift for your son/daughter to mark a particular milestone such as an 18th or 21st birthday, going off to university etc. It's a combination of wise words,sound advice & a bit of schmaltz! Some of the points made by the author only apply in the United States, but if you can turn a blind eye to that (& the American spelling)you'll find it to be quite poignant - be warned,there's a temptation to go through the books with a highlighter to mark off the points you think are most relevant !

I bought this for myself in the 90s - and now I buy it for various friends and relatives - usually when they are about to leave the nest. There are lots of words of advice - many of them worth heeding, some merely amusing. 20 years since I first read it, I still smile when I answer the phone - one of many tips that stuck with me.

Fairly decent book. It is mainly aimed at Americans i believe. Mainly just bought it for ideas of how I could improve on myself really.

A perfect gift for any son who might be leaving home, University, Marriage, Gap Year, this is the perfect way to say remember to read this once in a while or even every day - it will bring you endless help along the way.

Got bought one of the volumes of Life’s Little Instruction Book when I was a teenager and was delighted to find this combined edition.

A good book for ice-breaker & team-building games; offers a range of games that fit different purposes and timeframes.Used many of the games therein and have bought a few for friends / colleagues too.

Have always loved these books. I lost them years back so was happy to see this, a complete collection at such a bargain price. Each 'little instruction' makes sense!!
