We needed a pan for making larger batches of jam. I read through the descriptions and checked several websites and thought this pot was a good balance of price and quality. The weight and thick bottom of this pot were just what I wanted.

I live on a small farm and do a lot of canning. Before I got this pot I did my jam, jelly and sauces in a 6 quart pot and it would take many batches to finish processing my fruits and vegetables which means that some would rot before I could get to it. But no more! With this huge pot I made 14 pt of applesauce in one sitting. The sides are nice and high so the spiting sauce doesn’t get everywhere which was always a problem with other pots. The bail handle makes for easy lifting and pouring. The only thing that I would improve is adding a lid but it’s still great without one. It was a little expensive but so worth it I wish I had known about it years ago.

I made applesauce for canning and apple scraps jelly the first time using this pot and I absolutely loved it! It's perfect for canning.

I liked that the pan is heavy duty. The 2 things I would have liked a little better would have been for the measures to be etched into the metal and the rear handle a little lower on the pan. The rear handle would be a little better lower down so that when pouring something hot out, that the entire contents would be more easily emptied out.
