Don't Wake the Dragon (Clever Storytime)

Beautifully illustrated and interactive as well, this engaging bedtime story helps settle down even the most restless readers before bedtime. Filled with fun it will give any child the giggles as they navigate a castle full of noisy inhabitants all being cautioned not to 'wake the dragon.' Kids can bang on an illustrated drum, knock on imaginary doors, and shush their way through a population of knights, cooks, and party-goers until they are able to sing an adorable lullaby enabling them to put the entire castle, as well as your child to bed peacefully- that is unless you have to read it one more time!

I would compare this to the ‘Mix It Up’ book and ‘There’s a monster in my book’ Super cute. Makes the kid feel like an integral part of the story. I can see how it can help set the tone of bedtime for little ones. I wish I had discovered earlier. But my 4 yr old, while entertained, was over it after one read. And she likes reading the same book over and over again til we memorize it. Like I said, it’s more of an age thing for us. But I loved it so much I will consider keeping it for the next baby somewhere in the future.

Okay let me start off by saying my 2 year old probably has about 200 books already. I was a 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and 5th grade teacher so I have read a TON of children’s books. This book is so unique as it interacts with your child as you prepare for bedtime. My 2 year old has asked me to read this again and again and again since we got it. I highly recommend this book.

I used this book in school (as a Speech Pathologist) to target many concepts, vocabulary, multi cultural studies, sequencing, and prediction. It was wonderful, and my students asked for it to be read multiple times.

Love this cute story!! We just got it today and my kids( 4 and 2) have already asked me to read it several times! I love that the story is interactive it askes the reader/audience to do certain things on certain pages. The illustrations are well done!

I am truly sorry to give this great book only 2 stars.It was manufactured, printed and assembled in China.That makes me especially sorry.

Great story, easily sung or acted out, beautiful, engaging illustrations.

This book is my 3 year olds favourite. We got it (in dutch) from a family member and after seeing how much she loved it, I found it in English and purchased it for her friends birthdays. It’s been a hit with everyone so far. Definitely interactive and it’s fun because it calms down towards the end. We always tell our daughter to gently close the book and very carefully put it away so we don’t wake the dragon after finishing. From then on she’ll only whisper 🤣 I got the book for a 2 year old and 3 year olds!
