The Veldt (Tale Blazers)

I decide to give this short story a shot simply because i heard that the DJ Deadmau5 made a song based on the story. The story was great and i have been recommending it to everyone who enjoys to read.

Ray Bradbury's short story is really a treat. It's a criticism on not only automation in the household but how electronics and media get in the way of good communication between parents and their children, and in fact build up resentment toward the parents.The children love their electronics and think their parents are crazy to want to take that way and be a family again. Their solution to this problem is chilling.The book is written in an education format, where children write responses and essays to Bradbury's story.Recommended, especially for teachers and young readers.

This short story is a great read for Halloween. The questions afterward are useful in causing one to think about the plot and moral lesson. This book that can also be seen as a warning about how to properly be a parent.

Great story. For so long, I talked about this story, but couldn't remember who wrote it or the title. Finally, after Google searching it, I was able to track it down and share it with my children. This should be required reading. It obviously stayed with me after all these years! Ray Bradbury had the exaggerated vision back then of an entitled generation with technology at the cause of it. Hmmmm...seems kind of eerie when we look at the way life is today.

Love this book i bought it because the story of how deadmau was composing a song and a fan of his add lyrics to it and the lyrics were the story of dm favorite book, and this was the book. Is too thin tho I'd appreciate it better in another edition i think

Era para regalo y llegó a tiempo y en perfectas condiciones. Del libro no puedo decir nada porque no lo he leído. Solo sé que es una parte de un libro entero de Ray Bradbury. Pero aparentemente está muy bien.

Absolutely LOVE this short story. Once you've read it - listen to Deadmau5's song 'The Veldt'. Worth it.
