I got this because my dogs have dry eyes. It works well.

Great product! Nearly silent on the low setting. Decently noisy on the high setting, but not unreasonably so. It's great for white noise on the high setting! (I live in a noisy area, so it is great to buffer out the sounds as I sleep!). Best part of all is that there is no more white dust from minerals in the water coating all of my belongings!! While those ultrasonic humidifiers may technically emit more water than this one, they also emit all of the minerals that are naturally found in your drinking water! Yikes, I hated the thought of breathing those in. This one has a filter, which is annoying to know that I will continually buy them, but thanks to another reviewer/ someone on the internet, I tried soaking my filter in soapy dish soap water and rinsed it, and good to go! Got myself another few weeks out of it. Overall, quality humidifier, I definitely can tell a difference when it is on vs off with humidity, and it can be very quiet if that is what you need!

I wish this had a third, medium setting. The low setting is very quiet, but low output, and the high setting is pretty loud for such a small unit. The high sound is equivalent to a large desk fan on high. Luckily I'm use to having white noise in the background while sleep so I'm use to it. This doesn't seem to put out as much moisture as atomizing humidifiers, but I got sick of dealing with the white dust from those. I can confirm there is zero white dust produced from this device due to the way this works like an evaporative cooler. The heavy minerals in the water are caught in the filer while the water evaporates off the filter, as apposed to an atomizer just tosses everything into the air. Your situations may vary, but my tap water is very hard with tons of minerals, so this is a great buy.

Our house is very dry in the winter so this humidifier helps to keep humidly at a proper lever for heating and avoiding illnesses.

Just like the title says you get your humidifier out of the box, set it somewhere preferably on a dresser for us debility you undo the cord and plug it into an electrical wall outlet or otherwise known as a wall socket you wash the filter meaning you wet the filter and Try to find a filter to replace it. This is the easiest humidifier I’ve ever experienced. It sounds like a leaf blower and after a while it started making some strange noises on low. It was very quiet. It wasn’t that loud on high and then you turn it off the Vicks vapo pads Worked

Since I am using tap water and using it to relieve a night cough, opted for the cool mist. The wicking filter is great for trapping all the irons and such in the water plus doesn't create the mold/mildew issues that the warm mist does. As for the unit itself, it's very basic which isn't a negative. Everything is easily accessible and easy to clean. Works well but be prepared that the high setting can be a little loud. Basically like having a fan. Doesn't bother us though because we like a little white noise

READ--- If you have a forced air furnace this is the FILTERED humidifier you should be using! If you chose to use one of those ULTRASONIC Humidifiers you will need to change your furnace filter every two weeks---That's RIGHT two weeks. We had one and I noticed our heat was not blowing out like it should, put a new filter in 01/01/2023 and on 01/17/2023 the filter was completely clogged up with white residue. Check the internet and you will find all kinds of info pertaining to the ULTRASONIC humidifiers being bad for your furnace filters, which could result in wreaking your furnace blower motor. We even used distilled water, STAY AWAY form the ULTRASONIC ones or you will be buying furnace filters and distilled water, compared to replacing the filter once a month or longer! This unit is very quiet even on high and highly recommend this unit or another that uses a FILTER!!

Please be aware that the value for money is not worth this product. The product was used and dirty. I've read other reviews that said the same. I bought this product and left it in the box for later use because I had 2 other ones already in use that were bought elsewhere. Imagine my surprise when I opened it tonight and it was used way more than once. There was an old filter with hair and rust in it and a brown ring that won't come out of the bottom of the tray. The sample vicks packets were used in the front of the slot. I didn't expect to receive a dirty product from the Vicks store.
