A Very Noisy Christmas

A very fun read! The illustrations are beautiful. I wish Bible story books were more accurate to historical detail (look up what a manger really looks like as well as research the likelihood that the wisemen did not appear on the night he was born, but visited later). This is a common issue though, not specific to this book. Other than that, it is a cute book that glorifies Christ’s birth.

what a great Christmas book! and the kids love the interaction

I bought this book for my two year old after falling in love with the GoodBook Company, and I was not disappointed! This book is meant to be read in whispers and shouts and the result is an engaging retelling of the birth of Christ! This is one of my daughter’s most requested books and she runs around shouting “Glory to God! Peace on Earth!” We also love the vibrant pictures and the fact that all of the art reflects a more accurate skin tone of the characters! My favorite line is, “Jesus was born that first Christmas so that we could be friends with God for ever. Now that is something worth singing and shouting about.”Lastly, I love that several times throughout this rendition the author states that Jesus is our rescuer. This is my go to gift for toddlers and babies at Christmas time. The only thing that could make it better is for it to be offered in a board book version, but we love it as is too!

This is one of my very favorite christmas books for children. I was looking for something to share with preschoolers, that would tell the entire nativity story, not from an animal's perspective, and without adding fictional characters. I searched online read tons of reviews, an ordered about 10 books to choose from. This one came out on top. It's fun and engaging, and tells whole story in a way that preschoolers can hear. I would also recommend it for elementary age kids.

I loved this clever re-telling of Christ's birth with its noisy, quiet reading technique! A great addition to any family's collection of Christmas books.

The text is fun, with varied volumes. It held my son’s attention and he engaged in the whispering and shouting. We don’t have a church right now so my kid isn’t in Sunday school. I’m very happy that he likes listening to this book. I will absolutely buy more books in this series.

My prek class loves the books by this author. So engaging.

Great book for my 1.5 year old, he enjoys making the “shhhh” sounds and pointing at the sheep. I think he’ll like this book for several Christmases to come.

This is my 22 month old's favorite Christmas book (and I guess mine too). I was a bit skeptical about how he would receive it, but he was very engaged in the story - would shush when it's supposed to be quiet and he'd be so excited when it was time to be noisy. The pictures are very pleasant to look at and the Christmas story is still very clear - "Jesus, our Rescuer is here! Hooray!" And even though it's paperback, the pages are quite sturdy. Would definitely recommend.

This is a great book that really easily engages children through fantastic pictures and through a brilliantly written story. It really gets the Christmas message across - highly recommend. My daughter loves it and always asks for it - even when it's not Christmas!

Totally love how engaging this book!! Read with my son and he had so much fun being noisy and quiet. It builds the ambiance for the day that Jesus is born.

Great fun reading this book with my granddaughter. Lots of involvement, lots of noisy responses and lots of giggles.

I gave this as a gift to a friend only to find out that it was a misprint copy :(
