good solid construction with stiff spring and all other component ...
Bought this item for half the price of what a pool supply/spa warehouse wanted and the shipping was even free. This is very well made... good solid construction with stiff spring and all other component (graphite and rubber) seems to be to original factory specs. It was super easy to install. All you have to do is remove the wet head assembly which houses the impeller and this water seal from the motor and put it back together in the same order it was taken apart. One tricky part of the dissambely was that you have to use a scewdriver on the back side of the motor to unscrew the long drive shaft bolt that goes all the way through the motor and screws into the impeller to completely remove the wet head from the motor.Just FYI... I had replaced my original motor and pump on my hot tub a couple years ago with a whole new assembly but in less than a year and a half the water seal went bad and started leaking water on the floor. After researching as to why I had experienced such a short life cycle on the water seal, I learned that it was because I was using baking soda to raise the ph of my water ( it is so much cheaper than the expensive ph Up chemicals). Baking soda worked great but because of its abrasive nature it absolutly ate up the graphite in the seal causing prematue failure. These seals are designed to last 5-10 years so if you're a cheapscape like I am and try to save a few bucks now on your chemical cost by using baking soda, you'll pay for it in the long run (sooner than later) like I've had to. Do yourself a favor and buy the right chemicals.

Don't spend hundreds on a service call! This is a good DYI project!
Perfect fit! I went out onto our deck the other day and heard a strange noise coming from our hot tub, opened up the hot tub cover and it was half empty! Pulled the side covers off and discovered a steady drip coming off the bottom of pump #1, that was originating from the shaft area. Some quick Google-ing told me I needed this seal. I have never done this particular repair before, but it wasn't too bad. Search YouTube for the video titled "Wavemaster pump repair on a Hot Spring spa" by 'backyardplus' - this is the most helpful video I found. I've attached some photos showing the old seal compared to the new one. I'll be ordering a second seal to put 'in stock' as the hot tub was manufactured in 2000 and I'm sure pump #2 can't be far behind!

Perfect Fit
Perfect Fit and saved me a ton of money replacing the entire motor and pump assembly. It was quick and easy to install. (as long as your impeller comes out).

Correct part for fixing a leaky shaft seal for hottub
This worked to fix the leak from my pump shaft for my Lifesmart LS100DX spa. It didn't really come with any relevant instructions, but I found a suitable instructive video on YouTube. One tip: When installing the seal, when the video says you need a lubricant of some sort, it's not lying! Lube it up or you may damage the new seal.
