Enter a land where creatures of the dark creep out of the shadows The Last Apprentice series follows the terrifying adventures of the Spook's apprentice, Thomas Ward, as he learns to battle the monsters of the dark and keep the county safe. But Tom's is only one story. The Spook himself was once an apprentice. How did he begin his training? How did Alice, a young witch and Tom's closest ally, overcome her dark past? How did the assassin Grimalkin become the most deadly and feared witch in the county? And you'll discover the rest of the county's menacing villains, collected in a gallery of horrors, and relive the vicious battles waged against them. Review: Great author - The series is one of my favorite , but the book was creased from being folding in half and the 1.00$ sticker was left on it, pretty sure I paid more than that๐๐คฃ Review: Excellent read. - My boys love reading scary stories and really enjoy this author's books. A thrill with a spook
Joseph Delaney never seems to disappoint. In the Spook's Tale the readers learn about how the Spook became the spook. It feels in a lot of information that readers might have questions while reading the Last Apprentice Series. I love how John Greggory was not supposed to be a spook, but a priest. His journey to become a priest leads him on the path to meet the spook who has just lost his apprentice due to a boggart that is controlled by a witch.

Very intriguing but quite boring
Many of these tales are interesting and keep you reading unroll the very end, but others are not quite as interesting

Outstanding!
I became an Joseph Delaney fan about 5 or 6 years ago by accident. I was at a book store looking for books that would peek and keep my attention. The Last Apprentice series does that. When I told my daughter that I become the main character in the book she laughs. So whatever happens to the main character I feel it also. Joseph Delaney keeps my attention.

Vever disappoints.
Another great addition to the series. Love it as I did with all the others.

Filler
This book appears to have been the product of a publisher hoping to cash in on a series. I can't blame the author for putting this out, but it really is a horrible discredit to the other books. It neither furthers the story, nor does it give the characters any more weight than they already have. Please Mr. Delaney, don't water down your otherwise five-star series with this light-weight stuff.
