Absolutely furious. I have had these cakes before in a larger size without any problems. This small sized one was purchased as a thankyou to a Nurse. but how can you gift someone a cake with a best before date of 25th August 2021 and a lid that comes off in your hand without trying? I am not in a position to return items as permanently housebound and rely entirely on internet shopping.

Nice cake, came in a tin, good for a present for someone who lives alone and doesn't need a large cake, I only bought it as tesco had run out if their small Christmas cakes, it's expensive for what it is, it's ok

After eating cake was shocked to see the date on can reading best before August 2021

Bought in November 2021 3 months out of date . For an expensive little very little indeed for nearly £19 you would expect it to be in date . Never buy off this seller

Bought this as a small gift item on 24th November.Turns out the product is best before 25th August i.e. 3 months, a sad waste of money
