This adapter has been a success. It is providing a good 5G connection even though my router is downstairs and the PC is upstairs. I have Windows 10 which installed the adapter without the need to use the driver on the installation disk. At first it only provided 2.4G, but after an hour or so it just seemed to suddenly connect with the 5G band on the router. The one negative is that the extension cable isn't long enough when you want to use it with a PC. It is approx 80cms long. It could do with being at least 1m in length. I managed but the short length means that it lacks flexibility in placing the adapter exactly where you want it to try different spots for the best signal. Perhaps seems a little expensive compared to the competition, but I haven't tested it against similar products. My advice DO NOT BUY it. Poor quality product. Housing from socket broke after couple weeks.
