Just Buy It
We recently went on a backpacking trip and I purchased this to cushion me while camping. My back isn't as great as it was in my teens and I am also a side sleeper. I had a list of requirements I didn't think could be met at this price tag but based on some reviews in a backpacking group I decided to give it a go. My requirements: Small Lightweight Easy Inflation and Stays Inflated Durable Good for Side sleepers This sleeping pad performed beyond what I would have expected. Ive tried other more expensive pads and this one outshines them all and at a fraction on the price tag. It kept me off the ground and well insulated, stayed inflated and was easy to set up and tear down. The bonus here is my husband is a large man. He is 6'7 and about 230lbs. He has resigned himself to sleeping on the ground as he has not found anything that fits his giant-ness. I tested the pad out on my living room floor before we left to make sure I wasn't going to wake up hurting the next day. My husband was there when I inflated and checked it out for the first time and was curious as to if it would hold him and be long enough. He was able to lay his full length on it and not hang over the edge! He gets disappointed a lot as he has a hard time finding products that work for him. His eyes lit up that he could lay out fully on the pad and not hang off the edge. He instantly had me order another for him. On our trip they performed beautifully. One note to make is to inflate, allow it to chill for a bit and then give it a few breaths before bed for max inflation. We slept well, felt well rested and comfortable for the whole 9 day trip. 3 others in our group are now buying this pad based off of my leap of faith and my father and brother ordered them for their 4 corners ride. Pros: Lightweight Easily packable down to the size of my hand Easily inflated Great for Side sleeper and giants alike Price point Cons: If you can call it one, an extra breath or 2 after initial inflation before bed.

It works very well.
This is an excellent budget sleeping pad. I bought one to use on a recent backpacking trip and I really liked it. My previous car camping sleep setup included just an extra long twin air mattress that was 10" thick under my 40 degree sleeping bag, but I needed something much lighter. I put this pad down on top of a folding closed cell foam pad, then the same 40 degree bag, and I was actually warmer and more comfortable with this setup than my car camping setup. I was worried about other reviews that said the pad was too narrow or slippery, neither of which was an issue. I think the closed cell pad solved the slippery issue. Mine weighs in at 24.1 oz, or 1-1/2 pounds, complete with the storage bag, elastic strap, and patch kit, so it's lighter than claimed. The inflation valve is a slightly larger 22mm size, which is a little bigger than the valves on cheap air mattresses, so I had the wrong adapter on my pocket blower, but I was still able to get it inflated quickly. At 6'5" and 245 pounds, this pad just fit lengthwise and held it's air all night, not letting me touch the ground no matter how I laid. WELL worth it. I definitely recommend pairing it with a folding foam pad, the R-values stack and the foam protects the pad from getting punctured from the ground. This pad is easy to use, easy to pack, and easy to carry. For the price, you can't beat it.

Great for the price. Read before buying
K so I gave this item a 4 because I have yet to take it camping and can't judge it completely. I was turned on to this because of a youtuber named dose of dirt. I'm not affiliated at all. He reviewed many different types of sleeping pads and for the price I couldn't pass it up. Below is my observation. This is a summer pad. Do not try to use this during winter. You will freeze! Low R rating. It's pretty comfortable for a cheap pad. Surprisingly actually. Very lightweight and compacts very small. I did not expect the size when it came in the mail. Comes with a cool elastic band to keep it rolled tight inside the stuff sac. This is a 6ft by 21inch pad. 3.5inchs off the ground inflated. Deflated and in bag:7inch tall, 5 inches wide Material is pleasant to lay on without any cover on it. So far has stayed inflated for a couple of days with air in it. No leaks. For the price, I can't complain. Are there better pads out there on the market? Yes! Better R rating, durability, comfort etc.? Absolutely. For this price though.. you won't find it. This is a great find and I think you will be happy you bought it.

Comfortable warm weather pad
Next to go pad for warm weather trips. Not the lightest option but worth the extra weight if you value your sleep when backpacking. At 40$ this is very good option either for car campers or backpackers not minding a little extra weight - Pad is incredibly comfortable, so far the best I used, even better than my Big Agnes comparable pad sizes. Good option for side sleepers - Scale weight including stuff sack and rubber band is 670g, which is way less than 750g advertised - Temperature rating: I am warm sleeper and used it in mid-upper 50F in wet conditions on last trip and did not feel cold. Perform well for both condition. I don't think I would take it below the 50F, but that's exactly what it is designed for, warmer temperatures - Durability: Don't have enough data to say much about durability although it looks way more resistant than Big Agnes AXL Air - Ease of inflation: What you can expect from a thick pad, it takes some effort. I guess the inflation bag can help - Deflation is quick given the valve design. Storage size is not the smallest but not bad at all. I like the fact it comes with a rubber band, so you can save weight by not using storage bag - Color is a bit boring, I prefer bright color pads

Great Budget Pad
As the kids are getting old enough to start camping (and enjoying it), I was looking to update car camping equipment to transition eventually into backpacking. Since my kids are young, comfort is the top priority, while R value and weight are lower priorities. I spent a long weekend sleeping on this pad and it was GREAT! At 4 inches thick, I never bottomed out. I wore my fit bit and my sleep quality was actually the same or slightly higher than at home (tho a full day of hiking may have been a factor 😅) the pad held air every night, no issues with deflation (and it comes with some patches!) The coldest night was 53° and the pad was more than sufficient at keeping me warm. It has a listed R value of 1.6, so this is really for late spring, summer, early fall camping (which again, is the window with young kids!) If I have 1 criticism. It's the material is slick! Our tent location was on the slightest of inclines, and this pad was slipping on the tent floor and so was my bag on top. I know other pads come with grippers, but they are obviously more expensive and to be honest, if I was on a flat surface, I doubt this would be an issue. This pad is the perfect budget compromise for someone looking for something that is very comfortable and well suited for summer camping either out of a car or for short hikes. The pad is light enough and packs down small enough to be good for short backpacking trips, 1-3 nights, but it is definitely not for ultra-light trips or for nights below 40°. In my opinion, the perfect "starter pad" than can be handed down to the kids as they get their start!

I Need a Pump
SO, out of the box, I was quite happy with the size and light weight of this sleeping pad. Then I got it out of it's included bag and started inflating it-without a pump. Which I wouldn't recommend. Unless you play a tuba or bagpipes, and have alot of extra air. If I am exhausted from a long hike, I doubt I can inflate this thing by myself without passing out. To be fair, Amazon did suggest I purchase an ultralight pump along with the mattress but I was feeling cute and didn't want to pay for a pump. Once I did get the pad inflated, apparently I got carried away, and blew so much air into it that the lid insert popped out and I had to check to make sure I hadn't been shot in the face. After I figured that out and closed the air valve, I was quite pleased with myself that I had such a cushy pad. I did inflate to a good 3-4 inches and held my chubby body up off the floor. It was comfortable when I laid on my side, and when I laid on my poofy belly propping myself up on my elbows to eat my lunch-which we'll not discuss. I think this pad will work on the trail. I will not likely toss my whole body on it at once because I fear I might cause it to explode and that would suck for me. The surface of the pad is comfortable and not terribly noisy-it does make a little sound when moving on it but I don't think it will wake up my cranky tent mate, which is good, because she's the one with expendable cash and a Subaru. I doubt I will use this pad directly on the ground while meadow-crashing because I really don't trust it to be very puncture resistant. For that purpose, I will not be snuggling any pet eagles whos talons might cause some significant damage to me and the sleeping pad. All and all, I give this a 4 out of 5 for the money.

Consider R7 instead
This was my first choice for budget pad. My first impression was that it was comfortable for side sleeper, but after 4 uses overall I’ve found it to be too narrow, cold, and it has begun to deflate to the point my hips will begin to touch the ground. I thought that being tall would equate to the long pad length, but it was the width that made the difference for me. I also purchased the trekology R7 for my son, and although it was a bit more, the warmth, comfort, width, and durability (stays inflated all night) makes all the difference, so I’d recommend that instead. The R7 a bit thinner, so you need to inflate it all the way, to keep your hips off the ground, but it was better overall compared to the ul80.
