This infrared heater is the ONLY one I have purchased that allows the user to calibrate the ambient room temperature sensor in the heater. I have had to send 3 other name brand heaters back because most of them failed to regulate the temperature properly in any room. Most heaters I have found do not show the correct room temp. At least for the ones that actually allow you to see what the heater "thinks" the actual temp is to begin with. They would either stay on too long and overshoot the temp by 5 or 6 degrees or when dialed back to where they shut off at a comfortable temp, would fail to come back on and allow an 8 to 10 degree drop in the room temp. One heater I let run until the room temp was 70 degrees according to my accurate room thermometer. Lower the temp one press at a time until it switched off. It never came back on even when the temp dropped to 64 degrees in the room. When I bumped it up ONE press on the remote, it came on and stayed running until the temp almost got to 80 in the room. Completely useless. The other heater seemed to indicate the proper room temp until switched on. The air being drawn in through the rear filter would cause the room temp sensor to read the air flow and fall below what the actual room temperature was resulting in it thinking it was 6 degrees cooler than the room actually was resulting in it overshooting the temp of the room by that amount. This one doesn't do that. You plug it in, turn it on, set the temp you want it to be in your room and it maintains that temp within a 1 degree margin. If you find that it isn't reading you room temperature accurately according to your home thermostate or a trusted and reliable room thermometer, you can calibrate it to make it spot on. This is way better than relying on a factory adjustment setting that might not read correctly in your particular home environment. Because you can calibrate it to be accurate, it means that your room will be maintained at the proper temperature. When the room hits your target temp, it reduces the fan speed (if in Eco mode) and eventually turns off and runs the fan until the elements are completely cool. If the room temp stays above the set temp, it periodically runs the blower for 5 seconds every 10 minutes to circulate air within the unit so it can accurately determine the current room temp. This is great because some heaters sensors will pick up the residual heat inside the heater from a previous cycle and it throws off what it thinks the actual room temperature is. It's like someone who is actually smart thought of this when they designed this heater. It's as accurate as you can be for temp control from a portable heater. The next thing that is nice about this heater is that the display goes dim after a while of inactivity and you can adjust the brightness or turn it off entirely. The other heaters I returned lit up the bedroom like a carnival ride whether they were on or off with no option to dim displays, etc.. So what are the cons. Well, this is not a combination PTC and infrared heater like the EdenPURE or Dr Heater so it takes longer to heat a room than those two. It is quartz infrared only and has 4 quartz bulbs. This means it heats objects only...not the air. The objects and people in the room heat first before the room temp will increase. This means larger rooms will take longer to heat. IMO, this heater would not be good in an open concept style room or with high ceilings. A small den / livingroom, dining room or medium sized bedroom would be perfect for this heater. Everything else about this heater is fantastic. Oh, BTW. If the power goes out, this heater remembers the state it was in. If it was on, it comes back on and heats to the set temperature it was set at. It does not reset all your settings after a power failure. It also has a 12/hr timer function and Eco / Low / High heat settings. When it is running, it shows ACTUAL room temperature in real time. Hallelujah! Most only show you what the room temp is after pressing a series of buttons on the front of the heater and, even then, only for a few seconds before defaulting back to the temp you want the room to be. So glad this heater was designed by someone with common sense. Hope this helps anyone.

This is a great purchase. It will heat your room or space quickly. The investment will pay you dividends in lower heating costs. You control the functioning, heating power with the remote to fit your comfortably. I purchased one as a gift. So, then I decided to get one for myself!

Great heater!! This thing shockingly only weighs about 10 pounds. And heats our son‘s bedroom up perfectly. We are not wanting to use long-term because of the obvious issues Space heaters can have but until then this works great, is very quiet and the different functions like setting a timer are wonderful. Great value for the money, and you can set things on top of it. You can’t even tell it’s a heater.

This unit has it all; good looking, compact, runs quietly, has a nice big display (goes away once set to consumers need), and, most importantly-it works wonderfully! The unit can be set either on the unit or, the remote control. The instructions I found to be straightforward, however, the booklet includes a code that once scanned, a video tutorial is available. Priced right, loaded with features, good looking and easy to use.

I have owned the Heat Storm for a few years now and when we got it we were really impressed. It actually heated up the entire condo including the upstairs. But this year upon plugging it in it started smoking and sparking and almost caught the living room on fire. We had it stored properly and nothing was wrong with the outlet. I wish I had purchased the warranty!

This is a great compact infrared heater. I've been through a few heaters of this type, and this is by far the best and most sophisticated- outputs good, quiet heat, controls are very friendly and readable, modes are verbally displayed (instead of trying to remember if the pine tree symbol is more or less output than the radiant dot symbol...) Ambient room temp is displayed largely, and panel brightness is easily adjusted (or turned off completely). Good build quality for the price point, cabinet is attractive. Very satisfied with this unit.

we really like this little heater it has a big output and warms up a room quickly it is limited with the remote selection but really has good heat quickly

I bought 3 of these, one for my basement and 2 for my living areas. These are great little heaters. I was on oil heat and to fill our oil for the winter would have been insaine costs up front. Did running 3 of these effect my bill, heck yeah! Lol probably cost me 300 to 400 every 2 months. Still was cheaper then oil heat. These heaters are great if you want to just set it and forget it! We had power outages and as soon as the power came back on the thermostat kicks on and warms to the temperature you previously set. Would buy again! They can save you money!
