Omix-Ada | 12301.04 | Windshield Glass Seal | OE Reference: 5453949 | Fits 1976-1986 Jeep CJ

This seal ended up being too thick for the windshield glass opening. We broke 2 panes of glass before we called in a professional installer. He also could not get the glass installed because of the thick seal. He ended up taking the whole windshield back to his shop, ordered a new seal from his vendor, and was then able to install the glass perfectly. Looks like many people have had success with this seal. I did not. Maybe it's a quality control issue or perhaps a combination of this seal and the aftermarket frame I purchased from Amazon as well.

I have a few CJ-7’s, and I’ve replaced the windshield in one before. With that one, I ordered a gasket from quadratec and my glass installer (personal friend), loved the quality and size.This gasket however, seems a bit large for the glass. It did not fight snug around the glass and we kept fighting it during the installation. We eventually decided to stop and I will be ordering another one from quadratec.

PPR Industries Replacement glass 304741075GTN and had a horrible time getting them to fit but I don't know which to blame for not fitting, or if they are not compatible. I installed the rubber on the glass with no problem but when it came time for it to test fit down in the windshield recess it was about an 1/8" to big all the way around. I didn't want to deal with returns so ended up cutting the rubber down with a 4" grinder very carefully to make it fit and I ended up happy with it other than I could see some grind lines.I installed it on a factory windshield frame from a 79 cj7.

Purchased a Crown Automotive J5758971 Windshield Frame for Jeep CJ as a replacement for a 197 7 CJ7 . Bolt holes lined up perfectly. No issues with the frame what-so-ever. Also purchased Omix-Ada 12302.03 Cowl Rubber Seal, and PPR Industries 304741075GTN Replacement Glass Windshield For 1976-86 Jeep CJ7, and this Omix-Ada 12301.04 Windshield Glass Seal.Cowl rubber seal fit good. This Windshield Glass Seal fit good, however, the windshield with this seal did not fit. Had a glass installer ground off 1/16 or so around the windshield to make it fit. After that everything fit fine.

Too thick to install glass. After breaking first windshield trying to fully seat gasket, I paid windshield pro to do install. He could not make this work.

this seal is way to big!!! for a factory 1977 jeep cj windshield frame OMIX-ADA needs to look at their spec's on older jeep windshield frames these might work for a aftermarket windshield frame but they do not fit a factory 1977 jeep cj windshield frame
