This product is a money, and time saver. It genuinely is fantastic! I used to use starter cubes in my big green egg. I’d lite them, then wait, and wait, and wait for the fire to catch good, and the Temperature of the egg to climb to where I needed it to be for what I wanted to cook. Not any more. Now, I just plug this into an extension cord in order to reach where I have my egg, put the tip of this unit onto the charcoal, pull the trigger, and within about 10 to 15 seconds I’ve got flames. I used this just last night, and in less than about 10 to 12 minutes from initially pulling the trigger on this unit I had my big green egg with a stabilized temperature of 350 degrees, and I did not use ANY starter cubes whatsoever. Starter cubes are expensive, and this unit will pay for itself quickly. At my local hardware store they sell these for $99.00. On Amazon I paid less than $40.00 for my brand new unit, and I am SO thrilled with it, and glad that I did. It is WONDERFUL!!

I recently had to replace a broken looftlighter and I saw this GasSaf version that looked similar but was cheaper in price. I figured I would give it a try. Features and build of the GasSaf are nice no issues there. The unit works fine it just seems to take longer to heat up to get the coals started. At least a full 30 seconds to even get any smoke off of the coals compared to the Looftlighter which seems immediate.I use my Kamado grill 3-5 times per week so I use these types of starters often. In fact I used a bernzomatic torch while I was waiting for this replacement and still prefer the electric heat lighter.Would I buy this again probably not just out of convenience and time of the Looftlighter. Does it work and do what it says in the description yes that's why I gave it the four stars.

The media could not be loaded.  I was excited to try this product on my new charcoal grill. Was not lighting charcoal or the starters, basically performs like an insane hair dryer running a fan over an electric heat element. I was baffled, looked back and it was melting my best extension chord. This product is crazy dangerous, do not buy. Check out my video. Someone is going to get hurt with this product.

Works just as described and fast!

Needs longer cord. I will say that it does a good job on charcoal

The switch is a pain and you have to hold it to keep it on. It's a little slow to start but it really works. Had the charcoal on its own in about 5 minutes and it definitely sped up the prep time on the grill.

Awesome product, I replaced my hoop electric starter and what a great difference, it lights the lump charcoal I use faster. You just plug it in, push the trigger, hold it close to the charcoal and in a minute you get glowing ignition, the trick I use is to point the starter away from you, start away from you and move the starter closer to you as you light more area allowing the starter to continue to fan the ignited area.

Not a bad product, but you have to keep the switch pulled quick which is a little awkward. Other models I've owned had a switch you could select heat or just fan. This only had one option.
