Ordered these 4x thermometers, because the ones I've had before don't have the probe. This meant that the whole thermometer was in the fridge or freezer including the batteries - so they kept turning off when the batteries got too cold to hold a charge.These have a probe, so only that needs to be in the cold and you can observe the temperature without opening the door and letting out the cold. Therefore, not only do you find they are working properly for longer, but you capitalise on the efficiency the fridge.These also appear to be very accurate - taking a reading from the probe about every 10 seconds.

I bought these to monitor my central heating system, specifically flow and return from my combi boiler and also to aid with balancing radiators.I was a little doubtful about accuracy/consistency, given the price, but with Amazon to stand behind them I though there was no risk if they were a bit pony. As it turns out I think they are really excellent value and plenty accurate enough over the expected temperature range of use. I've compared them at 20C and they are within 0.5C. At 70C the gap is up to 2C, so just +/- 1C. Happy days!Time will tell how long they last, but nothing to complain about right now (day one).Edit : I've been moving these round the house to measure different heating success within each room and now I've installed three (see photo) to monitor my condensing boiler flow and return temperatures. This data can be accessed through fiddly menus, with lots of button presses, but now I can see everything I need at a glance. Readings match the boiler figures within a fraction of a degree and mostly the difference is down to lag. Stellar performance, especially for the price.Maybe when the outdoor temperatures really drop and the system is working hard I will use them to fine tune radiator balance - that was another thought I had in mind when I bought them - although it seems pretty good already. Accuracy is certainly up to the task.

I’ve been using these for a month. 1 that sits outside the window to know the temperature outside in the morning. These are within 0.5c of the temperature, however when exposed to sunshine the metal clearly heats up like a car.So when it’s about 30c outside it reads over 45 in direct sunlight. Going to have to figure out how to have this outside in the summer with a close to accurate temperature.I have 1 in the bedroom indoors so I know how hot it is inside. Also keep 1 in the office as when people complain it’s cold, I can state the temperature.

I use this kind of thermometer for my espresso machine (set to the grouphead with Sugru thermoset clay) and replaced mine with one of these yesterday.Unfortunately I didn't realise the refresh rate would be 8-9 seconds as every one I'd bought before was 1-2 seconds. I checked and can't see anything on the product page to say what the refresh rate is.The quality seems decent enough and it's just as simple as similar ones, but the slow refresh rate might be a real breaker if it causes me to miss the correct temperature to pull my shots. The first one I brewed today ended up looking good (see picture), taste was OK, but not great.

Bought these in October 2024 for use in our freezer to monitor temperature not expecting much but hoping for the best. It's now January 2026 and I've just had to replace the batteries. That's over a year in sub zero temperatures and still working as good as new!Tip: if using in a freezer put the end of the probe in a matchbox or similar to avoid direct contact with frozen stuff and place somewhere near the freezer center. I used blu-tac to place the display.Cheap as chips and highly recommended!

These thermometers do what they are required to do. There is a difference of 0.6 degrees between them at a room temperature of around 19 degrees so they are quite accurate, more than adequate for most purposes. I would have liked a longer sensor cable for the purpose I want to use them for but I can always extend it myself. The display is very clear. Battery life remains to be seen but I have previously used similar ones in which the battery lasted over a year. At the price they represent very good value for money.
