CorelleLivingware 16-Piece Dinnerware Set, Squared, Service for 4

I just purchased my 3rd set of these dishes. I am not replacing. I am adding to this set. I got so sick of purchasing nice sets of dishes over the years and then finding chips in them. I am a bit of a snob and I just think it looks awful to have even one chip in a dish set, so after years of this I decided to buy corelle. I honestly don't LOVE the design of this set, but the more attractive sets were more than twice the price so this set won in the end. I have 2 kids and love to entertain so I needed something durable.Recently,we decided to eliminate all the plastic "kid dishes" from our house so we needed a few more plates and bowls. I was shocked to see that after 5 years, I can STILL purchase the exact match to my set on amazon. I was prepared to replace them with a better design, but much to my dismay I counted and I still have the COMPLETE sets of dishes I purchased 5 years ago. It would be wasteful for me to replace them with a different design since they are all in perfect condition, so I just bought an extra set.I agree with previous reviewers that the small plates are ridiculously small. Not good for much. I wish they were bigger. I also do not like the mugs because they are small and the handle gets very hot if you microwave them. I frequently microwave beverages that have cooled down so I replaced all of the mugs. The large plates and bowls work great and are all still perfect. No chips and no fading of the design. They are priced very well, so overall I am pleased with this purchase. I am hoping they will last another 5 years at least. We have 2 small children that use them and granite countertops (all the makings of a dish disaster) but they have held up great.I highly recommend corelle, but splurge on the design you like the best because you will have these dishes for life.

We used Corelle for our everyday dishes as far back as I can remember. I think my parents got their set as a wedding gift, and until my mum got tired of the same pattern about 10 years ago, we used the same set- 30+ years (she donated them to charity because they were still like brand new). When I got married, my grandmother gave me half of her 16 piece service which she had also had since the late 60's. Well, those Harvest Golds and Avocado Greens are all gone, now (anyone raised in the 60-70's knows what I am talking about), and we just moved into a new place and needed dishes. I love the look and variety of stoneware, but they are heavy and get too hot if you use them in the microwave. Sometimes I like Hot Pockets, and I flop it onto a plate, and into the nuker it goes. Corelle doesn't heat up like stoneware. The cups in this set are stone, which I like for coffee cups. The handles don't heat up, but the cup itself is well insulated to keep your drink warm (yes, I just got them, but I tried it out to be sure before I decided to keep them or write this review). The plates are good old Corelle. Light weight, efficient, and nowadays, you have a pretty fair variety of colour and design.I was really surprised when I got my order today, considering I'd chosen free shipping with a 5-8 day delivery time, and I just got notice yesterday that they had shipped. I only ordered them on Friday! They were properly packaged, too. Efficient, tight packing without excessive materials. (A note for you nit-pickers out there: There was a slight filmy kind of moisture on the dishes in the box. This was from the bubble wrap. It's just what happens with the heat and those materials. It comes off in the dishwasher, so don't deduct points for something that is simply chemistry :P.)Thank you Amazon!

We've had these dishes for four years. I bought three of these sets so I would have service for 12. We only use the mugs when we have company as we already have more everyday coffee mugs than we know what to do with. The bowls are the perfect size for cereal or soup. The small plates are good for dessert or a small lunch. The dinner plates are a good meal size. The pattern is not too delicate or feminine. The colors are true to the picture. The dishes have not scratched or faded. I nearly always put them in the dishwasher. They get a little hot after being in the microwave. I haven't broken anything yet even though I have dropped plates and bowls onto the tile floor. They kind of bounce a little and then spin. These dishes are Very lightweight which took some getting used to after the set we had before which was way too heavy.

Purchased 3 sets as a gift. This brand of dishes is tough, wash well, do not fade, rarely chip, mostly survive through children, take up very little space and are just about perfect. Through the years I have added to my set and only lost a few to breakage. We have not been gentle with them. I got the original set 35 years ago, still used daily, believe I have gotten my money's worth and then some. These are the same, hard to damage dinnerware with the exception of the mugs. Those are not made from the same type of glass as the plates and bowls, and may not be as sturdy. Not a deal breaker as mugs can easily be replaced as needed and I did not like the original stye cup. A luncheon plate for this pattern is also available.

I bought this set for a Christmas present for my daughter. When it was delivered we heard a noise coming from the box. We opened up the box and saw very poor packaging and a completely smashed bowl. I mean not just broken in half but shards of glass all over the box. I was very upset. It said not to return to the store purchased but to call the number on a paper in the box. I called and they asked me for a pattern number. I looked everywhere for this but could not find one on the box or on the receipt from Amazon.com. I told her the name of the pattern. She had a hard time finding it but finally did. I think the pattern number should be put on the box or at least the receipt. There was absolutely no way that this was broken by the shipping company as if it had been dropped then all the dishes would have been broken. This should have been caught by Amazon.com. I am very dissapointed in them.

Beautiful contemporary 4 place setting. Mug and bowl a tad smaller in size than other corelle sets I have purchased. However I am able to mix/match/and switch bigger limegreen mugs and saucers for a change to formal or casual table decor. I was so impressed when I received them that I ordered another set. Truely a great buy!!!

J'aime mon nouveau set de vaiselle. Contente d'avoir finalement acheté du Corelle. Vraiment léger et il prends peu d'espace. Mes armoires ont l'air vide!
