## Description

Marineland brand is the world’s leading brand of innovative equipment and environments for consumers wishing to create the ultimate aquatic showcase. Committed to fishkeeping success for over 40 years, the brand is the professional’s choice for commercial display systems and scientific research. Whatever you’re passionate about – freshwater or saltwater, big or small, beauty or science – make your aquarium your own. The Marineland Magniflow 360 Canister Filter makes multi-stage filtration in your freshwater or saltwater aquarium faster and easier than ever. This powerfully designed filter offers a top-sealing gasket for a strong seal with an easy-to-remove lid for access to media baskets – just lift up for easy removal. Stack and flow filter trays force water through, not around, media layers for total mechanical, chemical and biological filtration. A quick-prime button fills the filter chamber with water for self-priming startup, while a quick-release valve block shuts down water flow immediately and separates from the motor housing for quick, spill-free filter maintenance. Available in four sizes: 160 GPH (for aquariums up to 30 gallons); 220 GPH (for aquariums up to 55 gallons); and 360 GPH (for aquariums up to 100 gallons). Compatible with Marineland Rite-Size Filter Cartridges. Clean, sparkling water is the mark of a healthy, thriving aquarium. The amount of filtration needed to maintain an aquarium depends on a number of variables. These include tank size, individual maintenance habits and fish population. Whatever your individual needs, Marineland brand has the filtration products you need to deliver on-target, advanced filtration.

Review: Powerful, Versatile Filter That Really Works Well - I inherited a tank from a friend's Widow who couldn't keep up with the aquarium after my friend's passing. The aquarium was horrible and it took me 3 months of constant water changes, cleaning, and gravel washings to get the aquarium environment healthy enough and stable enough for fish to not only survive in it, but thrive. No matter what I did the aquarium was always cloudy with the old filter. When I changed to the Magniflow 360 the water cleared up within 24 hours and has remained that way ever since with the exception of a short period of time where I included Sera Superpete in the filter media to help bring the PH levels down and get the GH under control. Even then, despite the slight yellow-brown tea color staining, the water was crystal clear. In fact so clear, that if it weren't for the aeration system you wouldn't be able to tell there was water in the aquarium. Even looking through the side of the aquarium, end to end, the water is still so clear that the current from the outflow and the aeration system are the only things that give away there is water in the aquarium. You still have to do regular cleanings of the gravel, glass and filter, but instead of having to do it every 3-4 days, I do water changes every two weeks and clean the filter once a month. The water is amazingly clear and the fish are thriving. I keep 1 Comet Gold Fish, 1 Plecostomus, 5 Black Skirt Tetras, 12 Cardinal Tetras, and 4 Wag Swordtails. I wouldn't think of it as fix all, but it is fantastic at doing what filters are supposed to do. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good filter. While it is more of a process than a biowheel filter, its still relatively easy to maintain and if you love fish as much as I do, its very much worth the extra effort. I love the versatility of media that can be used in the filter as well. Very easily adaptable depending on the needs of your aquarium. If you don't have one of these, you really need to get one.
Review: Lol ok fine it did say to "clean before use" - Haha yes I also flooded my living room 2x. First time because it still had plastic around all the junk inside. Lol ok fine it did say to "clean before use". I thought it could just plug and play skipping that step. Second time right after because it never tells you to insert the gasket! Not included in the "easy to use" instructions. It's hilarious as it starts working really well... and then wooooooooosh water out all sides... unplug it? Nah the gravity just kept the h2o pouring out and all of the sudden the nice thick hose and the deep intake make a great way to drain 20 gallons of water in a jiffy! All over the carpet. Otherwise this thing is pretty good at its job. I bought as an adjunct to a dirty dirty 4 lb snapping turtle who goes through protein like... well an animal.. its sturdy and quiet. Pretty cool setup. It's my first canister filter. Don't plan to change the charcoal it's not some fancy salt coral tank although I would use a large one or at least consider it vs a sump. Or maybe as an adjunct to one for the charcoal. It's nice and study looking and well made for the price. I should have gotten the next size up just because, but this one is fine. Nice and quiet with good h20 flow. Eliminates need for a jet. Would highly recommend as a starter filter. I'm mainly using this to keep the water clear and stink free so can't vouch for ammoni elimination etc but the bioballs seem like a good amount of surface area. Again should have splurged for the larger one with the ceramic too. But again not for fish. Will buy again for other tanks as needed. And not sure why people are whining about the priming. Granted I'm a beefy guy but come on it's about the same pressure it would take to crush a mandarin orange.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Where to check the model number**
A: so a 20 W 120 VAC TS2 is what model... i got this as a gift already opened and that all i can see can you help me identify my pump

**Q: Will water be crystal clear**
A: Water will be clear when you first start it. Depending on what type of marine life you are housing will be how clear the water remains. I have an eastern painted turtle and the tank needs to be cleaned monthly because they are dirty reptiles. I imagine that fish are much cleaner and the tank can be cleaned less frequently. But you still need to do periodic cleanings according to the instructions.

**Q: Will this work for a 125 gal?**
A: It depends. What's in the tank? Fresh or saltwater? Saltwater tanks need to be turned over at least eight times an hour. Freshwater tanks are more forgiving, can probably get away with four or five times. What's your bioload and other filtration in place? These will all have an effect. It'll pump full volume, but the lift will change the outlet pressure at a loss of 0.5psi per foot of lift, although you'll gain most of that back through the downhill run on the intake side (gravity works on both hoses, creating head pressure). The instructions state that the distance from the bottom of the filter to the top of the tank cannot exceed 60 inches. As long as you install it within the parameters, you'll get full flow.

**Q: Hi there I would like to know if your filter will work for my turtle tank it is a 80 gallon tank filter will work for turtle tank**
A: It actually works very well for turtles. You do have to fill the tank initially to prime the filter, but then you can lower the water and it will keep running. You should have a minimum of about a 12" depth to keep it operating.

### ⭐ Absolutely freakin NOT
*by A***E on January 23, 2025*

Why in the heck does a ~$200 filter just stop working after less than 24 hours?! I'm not just talking some bubbles in the system or even a leak- like motor COMPLETELY DEAD. I did NOT run it dry / without water at any point (duh), nothing abnormal happened to my knowledge that would cause this. The system was airtight and working ok for ~20 hours until I came home to find the tank water completely still and this big heavy(!!!) filter useless. I seriously cant believe that SUCH an expensive product would just quit like that. I suppose I'm grateful I didn't come home to a flooded room, that wouldve been worse. However, I'm still irritated. I ended up going with the C-530 (unfortunately from this same company) for my 75 gallon. I have a smaller Marineland canister for my other tank that has lasted for 4+ years, so I guess my experience with this particular unit was a fluke?? The larger 530 mentioned has worked great for about three days now (fingers crossed!!!). PS- despite the issues, I still prefer this brand's filters over Fluval (theirs are noticeably flimsy?!)... which surprised me! Even with with this recent Marineland dud, I can't say nothing bad about the general sturdyness of their quality (filter baskets, tubing, etc.) Def recommended buying through Amazon though, so a return is possible/easier if you get a defective unit like I did.
