So, like may others we have a Hotpoint dryer, eventually the bearing (this thing) that hold the spindle at the back of the drum wears away and the dryer makes a horrendous noise, this year I have been through 3 of the cheaper kits that have all worn away within a matter of weeks, they were of course cheaper than this item so the price was what I based my decision around.............MISTAKE!Had this one in for a few weeks now, our dryer is on 3 times a day every day at least and there is no wear at all to this genuine Hotpoint bearing, nothing, no scratches, grooves it is as perfect still as when I fitted it.Save yourself the hassle I had and buy this genuine part instead of ANY of the other kits out there, they are not made from the same material as this and the peace and quiet will only be temporary.

If your Hotpoint dryer has started squeaking then this is what you need. At the back of the dryer is a cover held by two screws. Behind it is this things supporting the drum axle. It takes about 10 minutes to swap and saves a callout.
