The knife is made of .1875" thick 1095 carbon steel with a zinc phosphate finish to inhibit rust. The blade also has a serrated edge and saw teeth on the spine. The overall length of the knife is 10.25", blade is 5" with a hardness of Rockwell C 50-54. The knife's insulated handle is molded over the blade guard and has a lanyard hole and glass breaker on the butt cap. the nylon sheath is flame retardant and includes a Kydex insert, two leg protectors and straps. Behind the knife is a strap cutter multi-tool. The high strength, machined aluminum handle will not melt or shatter; it also has two oxygen valve and shackle wrenches along with a lanyard and bead for easy locating. very useful
bought this knife to keep in car and if you have ever seen someone stuck in their car and need to get out, this knife/tool is invaluable sharp out of the box, heavy (great for breaking car glass and windshields in emergency) and very useful seatbelt cutter has fire starter on it as well great emergency tool , every car should have one for this purpose

Grip is good even when covered in blood
Very heavy duty. I use it (and abuse it) and it has not broken, and I don't see it ever getting broken. Grip is good even when covered in blood.

It's tough
I think its the best of all worlds. There are two types of seration, staight blade and a glass breaker. Through in the scabbard that can go on your calf or belt and its always at hand.
