This brace is absolutely worth the investment. After my son’s ankle injury last fall—caused by lingering instability from previous injuries—his podiatrist pointed us to this exact brace. He even mentioned that a well-known professional basketball player relies on it, which gave us extra confidence right away. And it delivers. The design is impressive—the material and rivets allow natural up-and-down movement while locking in serious lateral support to prevent the ankle from rolling. It strikes that rare balance between mobility and protection, which is exactly what my son needed to get back in the game. If there’s one drawback, it’s that it’s not the easiest to put on. Younger athletes may need help getting it tight enough for proper support. Still, for performance, stability, and peace of mind, this brace is a standout.

I purchased this ankle brace when I sustained a grade 2/3 high ankle sprain with an inner & outer ankle sprain. Not fun. I needed something that would provide a good bit of support when I was finally able to put weight on the ankle. This brace definitely fits the bill. It has allowed me to be able to drive even when I can't, as of yet, walk unassisted on my ankle. It provides good stability for the ankle which means I don't have to be as concerned about reinjuring my ankle during the healing process. I have a small ankle, so I generally have difficulty finding an ankle brace the fits properly. This brace is great as it's highly customizable. It comes with pads that can put used inside the brace which I didn't need. It slides onto the foot. There are two velcro strips that allow the brace to be fitted to the ankle area. In the front, there are 2 double elastic strips that are stretched and attached to the brace with velcro. This allows you to adjust the tightness of the brace. Finally, there is the stiff plastic portion of the brace. The velcro strip wraps around the brace/ankle. It is this piece that provides the rigidity for the brace. This portion pivots at the ankle joint. This ankle brace is more bulky than a more traditional lace-up brace, but it provides more support, comfort, and customization. It's been perfect for my long recovery process.

I had an old ankle dislocation which I recently re-dislocated. No fracture. I just got this brace and it will take a little break in time for proper fit. But it is excellent stability for severe lateral sprains. I feel comfortable walking in it and knowing I am not going to turn my ankle. For me, this may be a life long product because I am 65 and no longer a competitive athlete. So I don’t want a ligament reconstruction. I’m very happy to have found such a quality product for the price. PS. I’m an orthopedic surgeon.

I got this to use to transition out of the walking boot after I severely (grade III) sprained my ankle. It feels just as supportive as (if not a little more than) the walking boot. It's far superior to other neoprene ankle supports (and believe me I've used many over the years with weak ankles). It's high quality and does the job. This brace offers my healing ankle a lot of stability with the rigid plastic supports on either side with a decent amount of compression and the right amount of flexibility. It's highly adjustable and easy to put on - you slide your foot in from the back then have adjustment in the straps that cross in front of your ankle, the piece that comes up around your heel, the part around your lower calf and then the final strap that secures the rigid sides. It also comes with a couple extra padding pieces to use where you need them. It's easy to adjust if your foot/ankle is still swelling some and swells through the day - it's a quick velcro adjustment. The fit feels super secure also due in part to the fact that these are designed to be more anatomically correct and worn on one side only (you buy a right or a left). The downside is that while this offers more support, it is a little bulky and does not work with all shoes. BUT you can wear shoes instead of being in that off-kilter walking boot. It's not perfect, but this is one of the better ankle supports I've found and used. I don't like that I need it, but I'm happy enough for it, I'd probably pay twice the price and still feel like I got a good deal.

Received used item, full of human hair. Seems flimsy, small sis wat too big.

Did not fit well. I wear size 7 1/2 Women shoes size Small did not fit comfortably, not sure if I need smaller Size than S. The brace itself seems high quality, it takes few minutes to figure out how to put it on. Once you put it one, taking it off and putting it on again is not an issue.

It’s Amazing

These ankle braces made in Japan have many layers that provide stability to soft ligament tissue in pronation or supination situations. The Donjoy Aircast that I bought last year at Amazon, did not have the support the ZAMST offers. It dealt with luxation on both ankles due to EDS (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Type III Hypermobile). Best worn over light socks, 3X a day. Fits well when worn with Birkenstock adjustable sandals.

We already had a left ankle brace like this so when she did in her right ankle, she knew what kind of brace she wanted. We're sure very happy with the size, quality and comfort of this brace.

L'ho acquistata in urgenza per supportare la parte dopo l'ennesima distorsione su caviglia già indebolita da precedenti curate (da me) male. Il medico del pronto soccorso mi ha ordinato 21 giorni di tutore e avevo acquistato un tutore universale in un negozio di ortopedia. Molto ingombrante e (giustamente) alto fino a sotto il ginocchio. Poi - per poter essere un po' più "agile" - ho deciso di acquistare questo. All'inizio l'ho sentito molto rigido, e ho fatto fatica a montarlo. Poi ho imparato a regolarlo e man-mano che lo porto si sta ammorbidendo (lo indosso da 4 giorni). Ottimo perché: - abbraccia completamente il piede, supportandone la struttura e la muscolatura grazie alla guaina e a fasce da avvolgere attorno a collo del piede e caviglia, - "immobilizza" la caviglia con un anello rigido, proteggendo il malleolo con uno scudo laterale (il mio punto indebolito). Tutto questo con un ingombro compatto che consente di camminare e di guidare (indossando scarpe da ginnastica o comunque regolabili) Consigliato anche per chi non fa sport.
