## Description

Reclaim your yard and peace of mind with Amdro Fire Ant Killer for Lawns. This product provides season-long fire ant control. This product combines two active ingredients for unique 2-way killing action. It’s easy to use and the unique two-way formula provides up to three months control. Use on lawns and landscaped areas and around flowers, shrubs and trees. Foraging worker ants think the bait is food and carry it into the mound to feed their extensive colonies. Once the queen is fed, she can no longer produce new ants. Without new ants, the colony starves - and you can get back to enjoying your yard.

Review: This Stuff Turned My Lawn Into Ant-Free Real Estate (And Maybe a Spa for Lost Gnomes) - Let me tell you about the day I met Amdro Fire Ant Killer — the moment my backyard went from Ant-geddon to Ant-alujah. I opened the bag like Indiana Jones discovering lost treasure, but instead of gold, it was granules of tiny ant doom that smelled faintly like “Victory with a hint of grass.” And folks, that’s a scent worth bottling. Before Amdro: Lawns of Despair My yard used to be a fire ant theme park. These ants had organized routes, committee meetings, and possibly Spotify playlists. I swear I heard one say, “Left at the gnome, Bob.” True story — and now they’re gone. With Amdro, it’s like I hit the delete key on the ant population. Poof. Vanished. No elaborate move-outs, no awkward small-talk — just empty real estate waiting for wholesome activities like picnics and existential existential barbecues. Applied Like a Magic Trick I sprinkled this stuff around like it was confetti at a wedding — but instead of “Congratulations!” what I got was silence. The ants didn’t march, they didn’t rally, they didn’t even file a noise complaint. They just left. Quick, efficient, and not a single tantrum. I half-expected a tiny ant union protest banner — but nope. Just peace. Incredible. Instant Results (Like, Really) It took less time than it takes me to decide what to watch on Netflix. One day ants. Next day — nothing. I started questioning whether these ants had a secret teleportation skill I’d never known about. But no — it’s just Amdro doing its thing like a silent ant ninja assassin. Unexpected Side Effects • My neighbor asked if I’d hired a professional ant removal team. • I now feel inexplicably proud when I walk barefoot outside without fear of ant ambush. • I texted my buddy, “Dude, I think my grass is now like Switzerland — neutral and ant-free.” • I may have whispered “Thank you” to the bag as I put it back in the garage. (Don’t judge me — respect where it’s earned.) If you want to evict fire ants from their overstay vacation in your yard with speed, precision, and zero remorse from the ants, this is your golden ticket. This isn’t just lawn care — this is backyard peacekeeping. I’m pretty sure this product qualifies as a spa treatment for grass and mandatory enemy eviction notice for ants.
Review: Dry granulated bait fire ants love; stays put, no mess. *PLEASE* see my warning re: other critters! - This has worked well for me for years. It does completely kill a mound within 2-3 days, but it's NOT a contact poison; the ants have to eat it for it to work, so be patient. Sadly, none of the neighbors treat their own yards, so our yard is constantly being re-infested. So I keep after them... ***WARNING***!!! --- squirrels and birds will see it (it's bright yellow...) and eat it; I don't know what it does to them, but it's best to put something over it so other animals don't see it. Leave openings, of course, so the ants can get at it. --- I have no idea whether other animals eat it, and I don't know what it might do to pets or wildlife, so always use some sort of weighted cover to keep other animals away from it. ***ALSO*** - don't store the bag outside, because I've seen squirrels biting their way into the bag to eat the stuff. I don't want dead squirrels littering the yard, so I keep it in the garage. A small metal locking bin should also work... If it has a scent, I can't tell, but apparently, squirrels, and maybe raccoons???, seem to be able to smell anything that will fit down their gullets. So just be aware of that and store it safely. Basically, what I do is dump some on a mound or area where the nasty little things are trying to accumulate a mound, and poke at the area with a LONG thin dowel or branch or whatever to make them mad; they'll pour out and start biting anything that doesn't "belong" there, including the granules. They can see the color and they seem to love the flavor because they quickly shift form attack mode into gathering mode. And I need to emphasize: use a LONG stick to stir up the nest and get them going after the bait. You do NOT want them to make their way up the poker and go after you!!!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How long before the ants die? It's been 3 days so far and all the mounds are just as active as before. It hasn't rained, so that is not the problem.**
A: Usually within the week! But, though it’s a no-no, I always disturb the mound slightly to get them to take it in immediately, works for me!

**Q: Is this the same as the stuff that comes in the hard plastic container? I don't want to broadcast it. I just want to put it around the mounds.**
A: I am not sure, but I use this around mounds, and broadcast it. I even mix it with OVER N OUT, and leave it in trouble areas.

**Q: Why a week after applications while adult ants are gone there a bunch of baby ants all over the lawn? I’m forced to use this product every week!**
A: We use this product to control fire ants. We use it two times, 2 weeks apart. Then We treat with Tango next 3 times, 21 days apart. Then next use amdro.

**Q: Has anyone had any luck using the Amdro fire ant broadcast bait during the rainy season in the spring? Do you have to reapply after each rain?**
A: I live in a dry part of the country I have never had to reapply the bait try to use when you have a couple of dry days if I put it out one day it’s all gone the next day and no ants then I start looking for the next new bed

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Takes time, but ants are gone
*by S***. on July 21, 2023*

First, this is not a quick treatment to get rid of an individual mound. If you only have a mound or two I would use the orthene powder that doesn’t need to be watered in. It is quick and effective for a single mound. This product is to treat a large area for long lasting relief from fire ants. Last summer I had multiple fire ant bites every time I did yard work. A year later I still have scars. We live on small acreage in a semi-rural area. In the past I only treated mounds. It was a losing battle as you never find them all. I had never treated a large area, but last fall I was so tired of the bites that I decided to give it a shot. I chose this bait because from what little research I did, it seemed the least toxic to pets and wildlife. I bought a few bags and spread at the higher rate for heavy infestations. I washed out my spreader first to get rid of any fertilizer residue as this can make the bait unattractive to ants. It took several days, but within 2 to 3 weeks there were no more ants. I did another application at the lower rate in the spring, and I have not been bitten by a single ant this year. It amazes me as I was bitten probably hundreds of times by fire ants last year. I just saw my first mound since the treatment last spring, so zapped it with a quick mound treatment, but plan to do another application of this Amdro at the lower rate before long. I figure I will do this treatment a couple times a year going forward. It is soooo worth it. Now if there were only something this effective for wasps….
