When I opened the jar the smell of the rose water was a little strong for me but nice nonetheless. I used about 3 tablespoons and added water to it to create the consistency that I wanted. I added a few drops of tea tree, peppermint and jojoba oil. Applied it to my hair and left it on for about an hour. Thoroughly washed it out and was left with the most beautifully defined and clumped curls. My skin was so soft, smooth and looked wonderful! At that point I knew this mask was a keeper even though the application was a bit difficult it was worth the effort.
