12 year old and I both love this jacket
My son is 12 (size 10/12 is usually too small and 14/16 usually too big) and on the ahtletic, lean side. The XLarge fit him perfectly while wearing a fitted sweatshirt. It will probably only last until March/April which works for us. He absolutely loves the fact that it's not puffy and that it will stuff into the pouch and he can fit it in his locker. I love the covered zip that doesn't scratch his neck and that the collar is slightly snug as to not let cold air in.I bought and returned 4 jackets before finding this one and I am thrilled with the purchase and so is my son.

Buy this instead of name brand for your kid
I was about to spend triple the price of this for a similar Patagonia jacket for my kid, but the.my I thought, “Uhhh no, that’s way too much money for something they’re going to grow out of in a year.” It doesn’t matter that I can afford it, but why not get something equally comparable for only a third of the price!?! I went with the blue which has green sharks one for my son and it keeps him just as warm as a Patagonia jacket .I’ve had Patagonia jackets for my kids before, which they’ve already grown out of, so I can tell the difference. The quality of this jacket is great too. I’ll be buying this jacket every season for my kids until they stop growing so much, then I’ll go ahead and splurge on the name brand. In the meantime, save yourself lots of money and buy this jacket for your growing kids. It’s just as good as the name brand version.

My son loves this jacket. He was wearing a hoodie everyday and I was constantly washing it. This jacket, though impossible, seems to repel dirt and smell. We ordered the medium (8) and it fits almost perfectly (a touch big, but that's how he likes it. He normally wears a Target size small. From the bottom of the jacket to the top of the mock neck collar, it's 20 inchesFrom the armpit to the end of the arm is 15 inches

Pretty good- a little expensive
I like this coat. I bought it for winter (in MI) for my son who is 3. I bought it specifically for the car (as it’s pretty thin) and Technically kids aren’t supposed to wear a coat with a 5pt harness car seat. I got it for getting in and out to run errands etc. but not play outside. It seems decently warm and better than no coat! It doesn’t have a hood but I’m ok with that bc it would make it more bulky in the car seat. He just wears a hat. It fits true to size.

VERY thin
This coat is extremely thin. Honestly, not much more than a windbreaker. I live in MD and this will do for an early fall or late spring jacket only. The material also seems fairly delicate, though the stitching does seem sturdy. Not sure how well this will hold up to my 4 year old. Would not buy again; I know I can find a better coat for the same amount of money.

Great jacket
This Jacket is really nice. It's very light and thin but warm. My 3 year old loves it. I wish it had a hood, but he just wears a hat. The quality is very nice. I compared it to Columbia light puffer and I can honestly say there is no difference in quality but the price for this jacket is so much better:) Amazon is stepping up. I've buying amazon essentials items lately and very happy with all of it.

pleasantly surprised
well, It is quite nice. We live in Eastern North Carolina and last year we didn't even wear coats. This year is hitting us hard with cold, grey, gloom. I didn't want to spend a lot of money and I really didn't want a huge, thick, coat just so he would be warm. didn't mind that it doesn't have a hood b/c he wouldn't wear it anyway. It really is the perfect density for this kind of weather. I am pleased. We will see how well it holds up after this season.

Warm. Inexpensive. Lightweight.
I got a 5T for my skinny 4 year old and it fits a little big, like I’d hoped it would. He likes it and says it’s not heavy. (Not a fan of bulky jackets.) He wore it when he and dad went camping at it kept him warm. We live in Southern California so we don’t need anything too warm. If we went skiing or somewhere colder, I’d probably get something warmer for him. But for the price, it’s perfect for what we need.

A great fit, kept our son warm and dry at Center Parcs in the rain and he looked the part too!

Thin, poor quality
Poor quality, very disappointed. Jacket ripped after only a handful of uses. Thin outer layer. Wouldn't recommend if this is the quality of all. Also bought a blue one but very wary of it ripping as well.
