Good sound BUT
Good sound BUT quite uncomfortable to wear. The padding around the ears feels very plasticy and quite hard. That is my only gripe hence the 4 stars. Are they worth the money yes. But with hard plastic feeling around the ears I don't think I'll be able to wear for long. I'll probably have get some padding glued to the existing ones

Superb sound, very comfortable
These are quite ridiculously good for the price. The sound is open, natural and undistorted right up to uncomfortably loud listening levels: the highs are clear and brilliant, the bass profound but clean, never boomy or woofy. The headphones seem solid and a little heavy in the hand, but once on and adjusted feel light and very comfortable. External noises are well-damped, and my wife tells me there is no leakage whatever even sitting right next to me. There is a decent range of adjustment, and the hinges (for folding) feel solid and reassuring. Altogether these are very good headphones indeed, even down to the flat cable and the neat inline control for calls and to pause/skip tracks. Thoroughly recommended!

Really disappointing build and sound quality vs previous HD400s
My old pair of HD400s finally started giving me issues after a couple years of use and i was delighted with them in terms of build and sound quality so immediately ordered another pair. The replacement pair instantly felt poorer quality material and the sound quality really poor and comparative to low end cheap nasty products. Really disappointed.

Sound quality is good for price - extremly uncomfortable after relatively long sessions
I would recommend Sennheiser's older model HD206 over this one, they are larger, cheaper and more comfortable. Sound quality difference isn't noticeable.

Took a long time for sound …
These sounded awful from new , then my son used them for his x box for an hour a day for a few months , now they sound great ! ……I have since read you are supposed to ‘break them in ‘ for about 50 hours on half volume ..
